Get a Yugo. After winning a local destruction derby with one I rule the town roads. Everybody keeps at least 5 car lengths out of fear. It is both my safest and manliest vehicle for this reason.

I'm loving our Yukon Denali. We hit 2 deer one night doing 75 and barely felt it. I'm pretty sure we would have been dead in a minivan or our old Subaru Outback.
escalade or cayenne. duh.
Audi Q7, definitely way cooler than a minivan
Honda makes great vehicles except for the transmission on their v6 vehicles. And that includes the odyssey. If you get over 120k out of the trans it will be a miracle. Also the sliding doors have a major flaw with them coming off the track and damaging door panel, it's an expensive fix for both of these major major flaws.

What? No one has to hurl. You just open the back hatch.
I wouldn't be caught dead in a mini van, and I'm a middle-aged mom.
I have yet to meet a mini-van driving male with 3 or more kids who isn't either cheating on his wife or thoroughly emasculated.
OP, go with the Toyota Highlander Hybrid with a rear facing 3rd row back seat. Perfect compromise.
Don't even ask me about my Ford Explorer. What a lemon. Can't wait to pay this piece of crap off and get a 4-Runner like I should have.
Back seat is a bitch to get into. It is also close to 15k more than the minivan and gets wretched gas mileage (well that is true of most 3 row suvs). But it does look slightly better than your avearge minivan. It does have a sweet interior. The exterior of pretty much all the SUVs/Vans are pretty boring.

You need to get something from the last few years. The older cars don't have the quick and safe attachments for the car seats. (minivan is the correct answer-just get a sweet car for your other vehicle)
