Dude, all he's saying is there are coaches out there can can handle the talent when its given... most of these SUNY schools dont have the access to the All American talent so are forced to develop it. Very few NY kids are pumped about going to SUNY, so its much harder to recruit... give those coaches some credit, esp SB Bing and Albs.

Most years a DIII SUNY team has the best cross country team out of all the the SUNYs. Binghamton has stepped up for a couple of years recently but besides this short period of time it has been cortland or geneseo where the best SUNY teams are. I do give credit to binghamton for it's recent improvements but they definitely don't have a track record of success and no SUNY school has EVER had a cross country talent like Sheridan.

So is Sheridan transferring to Villanova or Michigan?

Anyone who is questioning this guys comittment or content of his character needs to watch this interview

it's also easier to show great commitment when you're healthy and very fit...

I ran with Rick at Iona and always got on well with him and admired his loyalty and enthusiasm to the program.

This looks like a crappy situation for all involved. I wish both Rick and Ryan all the best, and think its time to move on.

The fact that the coach won't release Ryan Sheridan says it all.

I think he should go where he wants, whether he's released or not.

Also I think he should fight the release, since it sounds like there are plenty of grounds for having one.

sheridan is also graduating in december. he should be allowed to go wherever he wants for graduate school. ricardo really dropped the ball on this one. ryan was one of ric's few loyal followers and he managed to get screwed over as well.

i have been told from a credible source the reason that sheridan is leaving is not because of the coach(es) nor has he been forced out. he graduates and decided to leave because the lesser runners in the progamme who lack the commitment that he wants in teammates treated him like dirt when they got into trouble for behaving like children. from what my source tells me the good runners (leonard korir,matthew bayley etc) have nothing but respect for him as a runner and person he in return respects them. i'm also told that he was ill/injured so he wouldnt have been able to compete for the gaels in terre haute

I can attest to this. Wood and Venable starred in a sex tape together that was put onto an amatuer porn site. When Sheridan refused to help promote the video , the two cried he was selfish and quit the team to pursue a career in fudge packing

I believe you are the real "looser" here. These kids did not start this thread, and you clearly have no idea what is going on. They do not want the team to fail and the entire situation was way overblown by many people, including Sheridan. If those people you listed were such "lesser" teammates, then why would Sheridan even care what they did or said?

Stop posting when you don't know the story.

Word on the street is that jared welsh was supposed to be a guest star is the wood/vernable thriller , but was cut for personal reasons. The pairs performance improved so much that they believed it would spill over to better running performance ,so welsh was cut from iona's running team
