I tend to agree with OP. Our top 3 are fizzling out. Meb may not have one left in him, Hall is well, we all know what Hall is up to and it does not spell sub-2:10 in the near future and Ritz cannot seem to get it right, even with Salazar?
I'd have to say the USA's next sub-2:10 marathoner rests on the shoulders of Gotcher. Hopefully this pressure does not destroy his efforts for a future sub-2:10. Otherwise, I have no idea who could be next?

Yeah I was curious about the 20 mile time trials as well. Although it looks as though Ritz's 20 mile time trial was at a pace slower than goal race pace. It does beg the question though...

If x = y, 2 = 1, so 1 + 1 does actually equal three given this condition. Want me to prove it?
x = y given
