Brie Felnagle is the only current female distance runner that would be worth any amount of effort. Beyond her, most "pretty" distance chicks are just too skinny. Even someone with a decent face, such as Sara Bei, is just too sickening with the stringy arms and lollipop head.
If a dude wants to hook up with a track athlete, he'd be best to stick with runners at 800m and shorter, as well as pole vaulters. The PVs have great bodies.
Triathete chicks are FAR hotter than runners.

theirs somes cute ones out there on the NCAA scene.. kosinski, amanda marino, sarah penney, charlotte browning, kristie krueger just to name a few.
pros u got anna pierce, flanagan, goucher but these are married.
some of these post-collegiate clubs like team usa arizona have a few lookers.
case in point, theres some hot runner chicks out there, take your pick, not all are toothpicks. but jenny b does have that tooth thing going thats not hot.
It's just the number one factor that goes into all dating or marriages . . . PROXIMITY.
I'd take a sprinter any day over the super-thin marathoners.

Sounds like the OP was dumped by a hot runner chick...maybe more than once.
If we're talking marriage-material, I'll agree that the prospect of raising kids with some interest and ability in a sport both you and your spouse love is a great reason to choose another runner for a mate, all else being equal (i.e., you're attracted to the person physically and emotionally).
Even if your kids don't develop into superstars, your family culture will revolve around sports and fitness, and you'll be less likely to end up with a household of fatties.
My spouse and I LOVE that we still have the opportunity to be involved in track and XC through our offspring. Nothing more fun than seeing that thrill on the face of your kid after a strong race and remembering that feeling from your own racing experiences. Or knowing what to say when your kid has a bad day with running, and having them come to you because they know you *get* it.
I'm guessing the older Centrowitz's, Shalane Flannagan's parents or any other runner parents of runners would agree that when your own racing life has moved into the twilight, it's a true gift to have kids- who are as close to an extension of ourselves as we get in life- to keep the thrill of this sport alive for a few more years.

Actually, this girl is gorgeous. That's not a good picture. Saw her at Pac-10s when Stanford went up for their team award.
