It seems to me that Sisson is smart enough in her training that she wouldn't race on easy days. It seems that she and her dad are smart in how she trains and races, and that will translate onto the collegiate level.

read what i typed again. I didn't say sisson was racing her easy runs.
Right, and the whole team came crashing right after she left. hmmm coincidence? I think not.
Mark my words this will be the last year of amazing recruits for Washington
Greg...er "tired of bs" said: "So many of these posts about coaches are ridiculous... Commenting on things that you don't really know..if you were an athlete at the UW you would understand that Kelly Strong didn't really coach or develop athletes. She was an "assistant" who acted as a friend to the athletes and acted very inappropriate on many levels. The athletes there are much better without her. She needs to grow up first before she can actually be a coach!"
===================
Greg, isn't this pretty much the same thing you have said about most of the other coaches who have jumped your ship? Mark my words, this group of All-American recruits will be transferring, getting injured, or have one good year at Washington (aka the graveyard for distance runners).
ACK! Grinaker slipped my mind. 13th place as a freshman, then 25th, 44th, and redshirted last year.
And Holly Knight, 11th as a sophomore.
Julia Viellehner (11th as a freshman) would have been a redshirt senior if she stuck around.
Jordan Hasay.
Dark Horse: Cecily Lemmon-Lew
Cecily Lemmon should be up there. This year is going to be exciting, there are a number of people who could win!
Emily Infeld og Georgetown will be top 5
SCHAAF FOR EASY WIN
Kayleigh Tyerman (Sophomore)Cal Poly
Looking quite fit!
My Ultra Sleeper Pick.
Coach Kelly Strong is coaching there now. Look for their women's program to rival their mens, they will get into NCAA's.
Thanks XC GOD, I remembered seeing her in a video but could never find it again. Always wondered what her name was, just remembered she was cute! http://www.flotrack.org/videos/coverage/view_video/235248-2009-usatf-junior-championships-interviews/190482-kayleigh-tyerman-jr-3k-3rd-usa-junior-outdoor-championships
Amanda Marino is going to take this one!!!!
bump!
Still no clear cut favorite!
Sheila Reid has to be the favorite right now, but still probably doesn't have much more than a 25-30% chance of winning it all. Also, if someone else makes a break early, does she have the go-ahead to go after it, or is she solely running for the team title?
Hasay also has to be considered the leader among the next group of possible winners, with Kimaiyo (UTEP), the better Van Dalen twin (Lucy? [Stony Brook]), and Reid's teammate Marino also in that bunch. None of them probably have more than a 15-20% chance of taking it all.
If everything goes absolutely perfect and they catch a couple breaks, Infeld (Georgetown), Kosinski (Oregon), the lesser of the Van Dalen twins (Holly?), and Maier (Cal) all have a shot. Maier is actually my favorite among these runners--she has been so consistent all year. These runners all probably have a 2-6% chance of taking the title.
Hoer (NC State) and Sisson (Wisco) will likely be solidly within the top-20, but I don't think either of the freshmen will win it all. Although Schaaf (UNC) seems to be rounding into form, I don't think she's nearly as fit as she was last year; top-10 would be a good run. Hogan (GW) should be satisfied with top-10 or -15; she has proven to be a step behind Infeld all year, and a couple behind Marino.
Toledo dark horse Ari Fisher will take the individual title. She beat Rose Tanui of Texas Tech and 5 All-Americans at the Richard Clarke Invite for the win.Two time conferance champion back to back.If she runs a smart race she can take the title.
This will be the top 10. it might not necessarily be in this order, but im willing to bet my last dollar at least 6 of my picks for top 10 will actually be in the top 10.
1. Reid
2. Hasey
3. Lucy van dalen
4. Hoer
5. Infield
6. marino
7. macleod
8. kroeger
9. krueger
10. Browning
My money is on Holly van Dalen. She is the better of the twins over cross country the only reason she has been getting beaten this season is she was injured early. Lucy usually only beats holly in 1 race a year over XC. Holly has been playing catch up because of the late start and she has been getting closer each race.
Jordon, shelia, holly and Lucy each have a 15% chance at best it is so tight.
Jessica Pixler does not have XC eligibility, just track. She will run track for CU this spring.
The New Zealand, Stonybrook, Van Dalen twins 1-2
Clear favorites, no one else is even close, unless a Kenyan sneaks in!
Van Dalens battling it out for the win. End of discussion.
