Go to a high level job in LA or NYC with a degree from UNC and people talk to you. UW....no. Fact. Deal with it

Law school and undergrad have little to do with each other, so I can't imagine why we are talking about this, but USNews had UNC & UW law schools tied last year, and just one point apart this year so it hardly seems likely their grads get treated all that differently.
Disclaimer: I am a UNC student, undergrad or graduate student I won't say.
However, your post isn't fair. Those are the wrong programs to compare because we don't hold our law school in high esteem. It's not exactly an embarrassment but it's not a secret that our law school under-performs relative to our other programs. Yes, the administrative big wigs realize that this is the case and they aren't happy about it. Things don't change overnight, it will take more than a few years until the law school is up to par with our other programs. Also, I am posting drunk so don't draw any conclusions about our student body based on this post.
UNC is the third hardest public school to gain acceptance at last time I checked behind Cal-Berkely and W&M. While you claim all it has is basketball, what is UW so apparently good at, I really don't know. I have a friend from Seattle who visits the east coast frequently, and even they say that UNC is better than UW, solely academically speaking. Thats just one opinion from someone close to UW and far from UNC.
If UNC is where girls go to get fat, then perhaps this is a good move for the young lady. She won't get fat, but perhaps she'll get healthy.

Yes, but how many law schools have a playboy bunny/Hooters national bikini contest winner in attendance?

http://abovethelaw.com/2009/03/unc-law-school-disavows-the-disavowal-of-wannabe-bunny/Does Kendra have a running related injury or some other health related problem? Since 09-10 NCAA XC I have not heard anything about her and now she has left UW?
Someone clue me in here.
UNC is where girls go to get skinny or stay skinny because it is encouraged.

I'm pretty sure UCLA is the hardest public school to get into. At the very least it has the most undergrad applicants every year and I doubt that many more kids, if any, are accepted there than at Berkeley. Also, learn to spell Berkeley.
Tell that to Megan Kaltenbach. Away from Chapel Hill, she's now a model.
kendra is gorgeous!
METCALF SAYS SCHAAF STAYING PUT
Despite a report on a blog published by longtime track writer Paul Merca that UW star cross-country runner Kendra Schaaf will transfer from the school, head coach Greg Metcalf said yesterday that Schaaf plans to stay put.
“I’ve sat down with Kendra, and as of right now, she’s staying,” Metcalf said. “We’ve had conversations, and she’s talked about wanting to leave, but that’s it.”
That conflicts with the report from Merca’s blog, which cites Schaaf’s Canadian club coach, Steve Gersten, as telling the site that Schaaf is indeed leaving UW.
Merca reports that Schaaf, a sophomore, had been rumored to be transferring after competing in just two indoor events and no outdoor events for the Huskies this year. She finished second in the 2009 National Championships.
But as far as Metcalf is concerned, she’s still a Husky.
“I don’t really know why she would want to leave, and as of now, she’s staying,” Metcalf said.
"Please stop repeatedly posting flat-out lies about Oregon's education. Oregon is universally regarded as one of the worse public universities in the country.
Oregon is a bad school. UW is average. UNC is good.
I don't have the complete US News list in front of me but do know the following.
1) US News Ranks Oregon as the 115th best school in the National Universities category. Their US news score is 37Honestly, how many natioanl universities are there? 120? Oregon's acceptance rate is 85%. So if you have a GED, you are in. True story, I know a person who was told not to mention they had an Oregon masters degree on their resume as it would make them look bad.
2) Washington is ranked #42 and has a 61% acceptance rate. Nearly 1/2 don't get in. Their score is 59 according to US news.
3) UNC is ranked #28 and has an acceptance rate of 34%. 1 out of 3 don't get in. Their score is 70 which is almost twice that of Oregon.
============================================
Obviously you do not understand the scoring system used by US News and World Report. Rankings are largely based on Research dollars and advanced research degrees...something not very important to an undergrad track and field athlete.
As a past student at UNC, Oregon and Washington, I think I can speak as an expert. UNC is really good, but they told me to leave after I got straight A's without going to class. At my second school, UW, it went well until I was asked to leave because I wouldn't buy football tickets to a team that was 0-13. BTW Metcalf denies that I left. At Oregon, I found a good home, but was asked to leave because I couldn't run a sub 4 mile. Next...I'm looking into Harvard because they aren't ranked by USNWR...surely I can get in and stay there until I get my PhD.
both UCB and UCLA are ranked higher than UNC, but UCB is regarded as a more difficult school to gain acceptance in to, despite UCLA having upwards of 50,000 applicants or so. UCB has a 21.6% overall acceptance rate compared to UCLA's 22.8% and UNC's 34.0%
Interesting note. Metcalf at Washington has taken Kendra's name off of the roster for both 2009 cross country and track. She was in school and on the roster earlier. A sorry looser maybe?
This isn't a solely academic move. Her coach left and so she wanted to leave, but go to a good school. Watson had the Canadian connection, resume, and academics.
UNC is slightly better than Washington and they are both better than Oregon. They are all good schools, but that's the pecking order. Also UCLA, UCSB, and Cal are going to be harder to get into because of their location. They are good schools don't get me wrong, but the location has more to do with their selectiveness than academics.

Haha, Watson has a resume?!? He has a well-used passport.
In any case, the announcement has been officially made at UNC's website.

He did recruit foreigners at Auburn, but he's not at UNC minus a couple of Canadians. He also has most of his athletes improve. Although, his success is mainly on the mens side.
