Good supporting evidence. That is a thin man, anyone calling him very muscular is blind.

Some of that's the effect of the long stride. Bolt wouldn't look that fast either...except for all those other guys going backwards.

The IAAF commentary has a quote from Lemaitre's coach who saw some of the same things I saw. The sitting and open stride may be an effect of simply trying too hard (slight overstriding) to break the barrier. If so, and he relaxes and runs HIS race now that he's got it, you may see another jump in his times soon. Technically this wasn't that great of a race for him.

I think he will run faster this year.

His running style, apart from any overstriding, seems to be rather forgiving.

I think he'll have some durability, unless he injures his upper body or back doing weights, or kills his achilles running 200 turns.

Coach d do you care to estimate what he might do this year? And what he might do in the next 3-5 years if he can build his strength and improve his form?

Don't know much about sprinting but he might be a world class 400m runner given his 200m ability to sustain a very fast rate.

I guess, and this is just a guess, that he could get to 9.93-9.95 this year and possibly right around 9.90 within the next 3-5 years.

Lemaitre's RT was a blazing 0.181s!

So if he hadn't been asleep in the blocks, he could have run 0.05s faster and finished in 9.93

I notice Pognon only ran 10.3something, and Mbandjock ran something like 10.06.

Doesn't make for a great relay team compared to other countries.

He can get to around 9.82-9.84, the same as history's top 100m runners who may be clean, IF he has the perfect race, the perfect wind, the perfect sleep, the perfect competitors, and so on.

Better RT, today he could have ran 9.93--more wind, maybe down to 9.92.

Improvement of near .10 may come with maturity. Voila--9.82

In analysing the video I would say he can run faster; he has a few flaws.

He is 0,4 (not 0,42) from Bolt (And certainly not blacks, just ONE black guy) and btw Bolt hasnt impressed this season, his SB and WL time is 9.82, 0,16 better than Lemaitre's record and he is only 20 yrs old.
