I say either an Ed Hardy or Von Dutch trucker hat. A veritable ode to douchebaggery!

F*** that! Jorts are classy.
I think people who wear "tech" shirts everyday are pretty big tools.
I also hate the barefoot fad supported by the five-fingers. I have been running on grass barefoot since I was three years old. It feels awesome and I feel fast. It is just now that there is some sort of "science" backing it up. It is a sure sign of a tool when they claim to be running ALL of their mileage without shoes. Come one. I know you aren't cranking anywhere close to decent mileage if you aren't wearing trainers, and if you are it is 9 min/mile pace. Basically, I agree that 5 fingers = tool-shed.
Also, wearing the soft shell tech jackets that are meant for extreme mountaineering to class is a pretty big tool indicator. I know the only thing close to mountaineering you have ever done is drive up Pikes Peak with your mom. Congrats. Hope that Mountain Hardwear jacket helps you on your arduous trek from your dorms to the lab.
I would think that anything that malmo wears would fit?
All things compression.
The condom.
Yomammy - Are you talking about Zubaz?...Do they even make those anymore?..Even back in the day, Lyle Alzado looked like a tool with his Raiders Zubaz...
anykind of hand jewelry, most notably, thumb rings scream asshole with an over-inflated sense of self worth.
Arm warmers, stupidest thing ever.
Anything worn by 98% of young black men in the U.S.

Surprised no one has mentioned the lanyard. I've never understood why people wear them ALL THE F***ING TIME!!! seriously 24/7, with 2 keys attached to the bottom. The good thing is most people are so sick of the jokes by midterms of their first spring semester that they can save some face then deny ever wearing one in the first place...
ARMY, Gatorade, and any school logo qualify as stage 5 tool.
Upturned or angled visor.
The only clothing item that when I see and I can't help but think "TOOL" is when I see a cyclist or triathlete in their getups. I know they might be comfy or practical but the colors and the way they look just look... tool-ish.
When a guy wears NOTHING but a condom to the beach. It makes the banana hammock look conservative. What a tool.

I'd say worrying about what other people are wearing makes you a pretty big tool.
