I have to agree. The track has seen better days. However, when MJ ran on it, it was in relatively good condition and had some nice bounce.
In the Boston area where there are three banked tracks,the new BU track is by far the most forgiving and I think at least as fast if not faster than either Reggie or Harvard.It has the same feel as the old BU armory though without the dead spots.That remains my all time favorite.

The track is not short, but most everyone slows down when they start running outdoors because of the crappy (wet, windy) conditions around here in the spring.
can a facility like PSU make a 10-15 second time difference vs. running on an average 200m flat track? 3k or 5k?

Although I have to go with the Armory being the fastest (I'm biased seeing as how that is my home track essentially), I just ran at Boston University's indoor track last weekend and I gotta say that thing is blazin' fast. It's a tartan track, not mondo. It's banked more then Reggie but slightly less then the Armory I'd say. Fairly wide turns are a little bit shorter then normal straightaways. Gives you a very good "bounce", espcially around the turns.
