I only run 95 mpw, so obviously my opinion doesn´t count...
generally I'm only a 90ish type guy for volume, but for what it's worth, I prefer the Asics hyperspeed 3s. I have a couple pairs of busted hand-me-down katanas that I'll use for a morning run or something. The hyperspeeds have about 400 miles on them and show no signs of wear (except for being very dirty). The katanas are ancient but I'm the 3rd or 4th owner of them so I'm not sure how much they've got left.
HRE- Actually, I use the shoe switch too when something hurts. It's funny, sometimes my shin will hurt for three or four days, then I'll wear a different pair of shoes for a day and the pain is gone- even when I switch back to the original shoes.
my second pair of nike luna trainers must be over 1000 miles as I wore them exclusively from some time in July to now, with at least ten hundred mile weeks in there. they blister my left little toe but they've still lasted twice as long as any other trainer (I switch shoes when I start getting achilles or other problems).

I wish they still made those. A blast from the past.

I also have the 3.0 frees as well. The thing I hate about them though (which is just a pet peeve of mine)is the insole keeps coming out. Its really flimsy. But other then that its a good shoe.
Put some rubber cement on them and the insoles will stay in. This drove me crazy until I figured it out.
Take the insole out. That's how I run in mine and they work fine.
I wish they did also. I know there would be a great demand of those flats if they were out now.
Brooks Adrenaline. I'm surprised no one has mentioned these yet. Great shoe. I go through them pretty fast, but while they hold up, they're perfect.
American men regularly now run sub 13 5k and sun 27 10k but marathons stuck at 2:07. What gives?
