Happened to be at a dentist office today and saw in a magazine that a few months ago she was at 155lbs at 5'04". The magazine dated 08/09 stated she was now at 110lbs at 5'04". Now she is running in marathons. Sometimes it is only important to exerise the main muscle(heart)and run in any race you want, no matter how fast or how slow.

Great point Drew. Indeed Rodgers would have nothing but constructive comment. Also, nobody has said anything about this marathon being mostly above 5000' elevation, which I think would make it a bit harder than sea level.

Her combination of musical/athletic achievement has eclipsed every distance geek on this board and I don't even like her music. This is just another how fast can Lebron run the mile thread.
I think it might be helpful if the people on this board listed the times that they would consider respectable for each person at each distance. That way, we would know not to praise Morrisette for her 4:17. Obviously, some times are simply to shameful to even mention (like 4:17 apparantly) but the persons who decide where the "shame cutoff" should be have not furnished us with a guide so that we would know what times were shameful and what werent. Please provide this guide to us, and you would save the board, and the running community in general, a lot of trouble. Thanks

I saw her at a concert once up close and personal. She looked taller than 5'4" but then again she had boots on. A real piece of tail, let me tell you. So I don't care if she ran 7 hours I'd still drag myself by my tongue across a field of broken glass just to sniff her shorts.
Great point!! I would also like guidelines as to what constitutes a successful professional running career as people has mentioned that Hall and Ritz and Webb have not really succeeded or 'showed them anything' being that none have won Olympic or WC gold. Gosh, they and Alanis Morrisette are just abject failures.

3) She busts out this marathon without any known history of running. It is suspicious enough when somebody goes from 2:20-ish to 2:15-ish in a short time, but she went from NOTHING at all to a sub-5 finishing time.
4) I have NEVER hear anything about her pain threshold or work ethic for training mentioned before. If she doesn't have those key factors, why wouldn't she turn to doping?
5) It seems a bit strange that somebody in the limelight like Alanis did not get drug tested. Paula, Lance, Lagat, etc. all get tested. Alanis is an even more widely known name than all of them (maybe with the exception of Lance), but no drug test. I smell a conspiracy.
This opens up a whole new can of worms. If Alanis's performance is not legit, what about Orpah's? What about Diddy's? What about Alice Cooper's and Dana Carvey's high school times? This could be bigger than Balco.
