Seriously though, I people aren't being unduly negative. They are just trying to point out that Ryan Hall often comes across as self-righteous and dogmatic. As a consequence he is seen by many as a religious nut-job whose consistent harping has more power to exclude than to inspire. Moreover, I don't think anyone said he wasn't fast or knocked his achievements in athletics. It is how he uses his position as a soap box for totally unrelated things that becomes tiresome.
Giving money and resources to kids is a great thing but for their sakes he had better make sure that aid is meted out fairly and without unreasonable stipulations, or strings attached.
Finally, I'm not really sure why this needed to be some kind of special announcement replete with fanfare etc... $12,500 (a meagre $2,500 per location) is a very nice donation but it won't go far towards the foundation's goal of stopping human sex trafficking... For that goal it seems as though he'd be better off forgetting about the running kids and putting the money towards paying off informants in former soviet satellites.
I'm sure someone out there can find something clever and cutting to say about this post. After all, we shouldn't think about these things so much...Positivity at all costs! So says Allah!

i'm impressed! they're sacrificing their own income (ryan, i assume, will make more) rather than doing a ho-hum $10,000 donation like most celebs.
