CoCl2 is not tested, and mimics hypoxia. WADA is aware of Cobalt Chloride but does not currently test for Cobalt Chloride - which would need to occur in pre-competition testing, however, it is eliminated very quickly.

people definitely cared more about the sport in america in the 70's/80's when we were very successful as a community and the community was supportive of the athletes that competed. i believe that may have had alot to do with it not being the "internet" age where information and rumors spread quicker than people can contain them case in point the whole semenya issue that started as someone pointing out that a girl won that world youth champs by 15 seconds or so and looked masculine. cut to 3 weeks later and her face is plastered all over yahoo sports as a dirty cheating hermaphrodite.
if every single person that runs a PR or has a breakthrough is dirty, then what is the point of even competing. EVERy athlete that has ran well this summer has been trashed on these boards repeatedly. galen, kara g, jenny barringer, willard, CWT, nick s., ritz, lagat, ect. why is it that no one believes in the beauty of hard work and strict discipline because it seems that our athletes are finally starting to put two and two together. how does it benefit the sport to be overly cynical and unreasonable about all the athletes. it just confuses me. im happy that our sport is finally starting to see the light after many years of being on the bottom of the barrel in regards to distance running at least. usain is helping that as well. innocent until proven guilty is the legal basis our country takes a stance on why is it that we don't for our own athletes.
