How fast would the average professional soccer player run?

As an athlete that has always done both of these sports and now coaches both, I can see your projected times are all over the place. Your average professional soccer player would be about:

800 - 2:20

1 mile - 5:40

5k - 19:30

10k - 41:00

Remember those are averages. The faster guys would be:

800 - 2:00

1 mile - 4:50

5k - 17:45

10k - 38:00

reminder that about a dozen premier league players participated in a coronavirus 5k challenge, faked their times (running 1-2k at a time and resting) and nobody managed to break 16.

these guys could probably do like 18-19 in a straight up 5k
