I did a Master's degree at Stanford, and I have to say I'd go there again in a second if I have a chance. I chose it over MIT which had a better academic reputation in my discipline, but Stanford's unbelievable campus and unbeatable weather and location were way too good to pass out. I'm sure she'll have a great experience in Oregon, but she's missing out.

Where did you get your BA/BS degree? What you weren't at Stanford....you missed out!! This proves that there are idiots at Stanford...Jordan isn't studying for her Masters yet...she is going to be running and working on her Bachelors degree. If she chooses, she may be able to go to Stanford for her Masters in a few years.

OR got Zero T&F Medals in Beijing. OR hasn't won a medal in T&F at the Oly/IAAFWC in ages. UCLA and USC are the dominant track and field universities in the NCAA, the United States, the world.
You know the other schools just might beat Oregon. But how many runners are going to beat Jordan. And have you ever run in Eugene. People in Oregon know track and Eugene is the place to be. Are there better tracks possibly? But do country music stars go to Nasville because they have the best facilities...no because of history and that the people there really support the profession. There is Nike of course, Female athletes of past and present. Mary Decker Slaney and SHALANE FLANAGAN might be of a little help also. But maybe not. I am sure that Jordan will get the educsation that she needs and of course she could always go to Stanford after she is done also, after all she is as many have pointed out very smart. Also if she were a young man with this kind of talent would we even be going over this... NOT.

that's definitely not true...xc and track are huge here theres a huge ass billboard of the mens xc team off broadway in front of the school just like there is one for basketball/football.
I would say having 20,000 people chanting "come to Oregon" after you just had the race of your life might have something to do with it.
yea exactly...i dunno how anyone would say runners aren't cared about by the eugene residents...duck sports is all these people live for there isn't a football team in this state they live through the ducks and the blazers.
She missed the boat by blowing off Stanford where she could train with people just as fast as her in St. Geme, Chatelat and Kroeger.

She has amazing grades and puts a LOT of time into academics... Kroeger, Chetelat, Dunne, etc. are all at Stanford... why did she chose Oregon??? She had a Stanford degree right there that she passed up!!
It's her choice and it's a good choice. She wanted a 4 year running camp with little studying to do in a low pressure environment and that's what she got. If she went to Stanford the pressure of the S.F. Bay Area media would be tremendous. The hounding would be relentless. She's already been in the limelight all her high school years, so let her skate and have fun for 4 years at an easy school.
Are you dorks clueless? It was totally obvious to me that she was going to go to Oregon. Lananna is the greatest salesman in the world. Seems blatantly obvious that Hasay would just get swept right into that big ol' load of persuasion. Hasay wanted to go where they have the fanciest stuff and a nice area to train, plus somewhere where she could get lots of attention. Face it, she is a media darling. I think running for the ducks satisfied all the criteria. Lananna wouldn't surprise me either to pull some strings all the f*** over nike to set her up. Jordan will have a comfortable place to run at Oregon. With so many good runners, there's much less pressure on her. She'll be in a small college town with no media to speak of. Eugene will be a wonderful place slow paced town to study academics.
She's seen what happened to Alison Stokke who has been stalked by the media everywhere at Cal. There's more photographers at every meet she vaults at. I even seen the photographers hound Alison at cross country meets she works.

I seem to remember the core biology, organic chemistry, physics, calculus and bio-chemistry sequences to be rather challenging at Oregon. If Jordan decides to go through the Honors College program I think she might find that things are not that easy at Oregon. I guess the difficulty in Eugene will be what is your major? Like any school some majors are easy and some are hard. I would not diminish a U of O education.
