My elders always called Puerto Ricans PRs. Took me awhile to get used to the running term.
IAAF uses PB !!
IAAF is more British than American. My Canadian brothers use PB, not PR. It sounds funny.

I use "PR", but when non-runners ask me what PR stands for I say "personal best", and then enjoy watching their confusion..........or their judging me as stupid.

PRs are for hobby joggers like me, PBsare for runners with with IAAF pages.
At the same time, Kejelcha could PR if he runs 3:46 at Pre, which would then be his PB.

"record" means it was at an officially sanctioned event with FAT and you were dope-tested by WADA. Anything else is you trying to brag about your mediocre performances with no reason anyone should believe you.
Don't go saying "it is written" (record) unless that scribe was a competent official with an automatic timing system and a piss cup! We all know how easy it is to LIE about your times.
