Pretty solid run for Kara considering the conditions. It will be interesting to see what she can do in NY.

Good to see Kelly Liljeblad (Keane) getting back to racing after her peroneal injury almost ended her career. Not a good time for her, but a good sign that she is racing and may be able to make a comeback.

Kelly posted on another forum that she was quite happy to be back in the mix...

it was only the mens championships and the masters (men and women) championships. Deena won the marathon championships remember. It was at Boston

Kelly ran a 2:32 to win Houston before getting hurt. She is capable of running much faster than 57 when she gets back to her best. That's all I am saying.

Conditions were tough...it was pouring buckets during the marathon, although the 10 mile elites were almost done when we started.

Headwind going East on Summit Avenue, that might have slowed a few runners.

This was not a US Championship for women - that was at the Oly Trials in Boston.
