What happened to Josh Joseph of that cherokee team? I think he was on that great DMR team they ran @ Penn Relays against South Lakes.

Caryn Heffernan is Brendan's wife - the former Caryn Landau, multiple all american at Gtown.
As a jerseyboy myself, i get into this argument quite a bit about whether jersey runnners, and more specifically, CBA runners perform after high school.
i've found they perform on roughly the same % as folks from other places, but as you move up the running chain, competition gets tougher, and those who can't compete drop out.
for every jason dijoseph, there's an eric savoth. for every carl lewis, there's a steve slattery, and a whole bunch of guys who never did anything. but there's also a lot of guys who got to college and found that there were plenty of guys from other states who ran 4:15 in high school. and no one cared what you ran in high school, only what you did now. a few guys made it, most didn't.
as george carlin said about kids: they're just like adults, a few winners, and a whole bunch of losers.
Ah yes, Erin Donahue. Always wondered if she'd have a future at the heptathalon? Wait, is the javelin part of the hep? If not forget it. Don't know how she'd be on the shorter stuff anyway.
I'll repeat...No charges have been filed in the 9 mo ths since this story appeared. The paper is not reporting facts, other tghan the guy was arrested on a criminal complaint (not a warrant, not a charge).
I know you're the same guy that keeps doign this. I surely don't like you using that particluar screen name. I don't know why you have such an animus about him. Taht's your imbalance issue, not mine.
Me, I prefer a message of hope -- as in, you'd better hope I never figure out who you really are, and you;d better hope I never meet you in real life.
Hunterdon Central grad...Jon Fasulo is still running
for 'Nova.
Skylon,
I cracked up at your mention of Guy Gordon's big head because my husband said the same thing. I live in Morris County, too and often see him running on Route 10 or Sussex Turnpike. I think he lives up in Newton and I always wondered why he drove down here to run since he always seems to be alone.
Wasn't there a younger Heffernan (Ian, I think)? Whatever happened to him?
Ian is still running. It seems he runs a road race every weekend. Check out Compuscore.com for most of his results.
savoth ran 13:43 and 7:54
slatts won the US Steeple
greer was a USATF 1500 finalist
Bennett ran 3:43, and ran the mile at indoor US
Kingsberry and Filacheck are top runners for UVA
Fasulo is top dog in Big East
Pimental ran 3:43 last year I think.
Not a bad crop of young NJ guys I would say
Lippin is a scumbag. He doesn't deserve to ever be near children again.
I see you already forgot who won the DMR at Penn Relays and AOC as well as broke the national record in the event this spring... Or took 2nd place at Footlocker last year.
Oh and I heard there is some dude living in my county who is pretty good for a forty-something. Might have broken a few masters world records, but I could be wrong?
Besides Slattery, who else gained national prominence from NJ?
Past or present? Don't forget Marty Liquori is from NJ.
Brad Hudson set the VCP record as a NJ runner. Renaldo Nehemiah is from Scotch Plains. Carl and Carol Lewis.
Tom Fleming is from Bloomfield. Jama Aden and a bunch of other foreigners starred at FDU. Kevin Byrne won the H.S. Milrose Mile twice. Frank Gagliano first came to prominence as a coach in NJ. John Marshall ran for Plainfield. I can go on...
Carl Lewis, Mary Decker Tabb Decker Slaney
Don't believe everythign you read in the newspaper, because the content of that newspaper story is "hearsay" -- as in it reported the prosecutor's statements and allegations, which can be, uh, "free form" and are not subject to little constraints like perjury laws if they turn out to be false.
Without facts -- as distinguished from complaints or allegations -- any suppositions you can make are flimsy at best. But I see that an absence of facts hasn't stopped you from jumping to a conclusion.
A fact, one that oddly enough has been left out of every newspaper printed everwhere in the world in the nine months since this story appeared -- is that no charges have been filed. No arraignment has occurred. Someone might want to take that into account when weighing the strength or accuracy of the prosecutor's allegations.
Joe, you seem to know lots about what's cooking in NJ...do you know anything about what is going on with Anne Marie Lauck? Has she retired? Is she battling injury? Did she have a baby? Why has she been so inactive? Thanks for any information.
Don't know AML personally (have chatted with her husband on a few occasions and we haev some friends in common). She quietly pulled back from hardcore running & racing. No specific "proximate cause" like injury or kid (that I know of anyway), just decided shortly after the last OG that it was a good time to hang 'em up.
She's made an occasional showing at a few of the smaller Jersey League races, presumably out of friendship, support for a particlar favorite charitable cause, or tradition (there's a Turkey Trot that's a reunion of sorts for generations of runners from her old H.S.) Runs easy and finishes with a smile, they tell me.
Thanks. I just wondered.
It's cool, dude. Just thought I'd give the fullest accoutnign I could.
Speaking of...NJ runners..
Who do you think are top 10 ever from Jersey?
Men..and Women
Top two men: Liquori and Tom Fleming. Women: Mary Decker (pre-drugs), and Ann Marie Lauck.
Lynn Jennings was born in Princeton. Not sure what your "from New Jersey" criteria are.
