The Stanford Invitational thing is LAME, what's with the heat thing??

Everyone flys across the country to run in slow heats at stanford when they could put together a meet somewhere in the east.

If you are more worried about watching the rest of the meet you are not there for the right reason anyways.

Bag Stanford and Run at Icahn on the 10th....Races will be fast, weather will be better, and everyone will have a grand time.

How does Univ. of Portland John Moore (28:10) get into second heat and teammate Mike Kilburg (28:28) get into the first heat of the 10000? Crazy.

He is the F-ing American record holder! He should be in the first heat. Stanford seems like the place to be this year, but if the keep F-ing people over the runners will find other places to race!

yes, and i'm the american record holder for skippiing backwards jugglin bowling pins. what's your point again? until he runs 13:30, he doesn't NEED to be in the fast heat as it will be very doable to run 28flat OR BETTER from the second heat. he will not go any faster than that at the most optomistic projection so thus, no need to be in the first heat getting lapped like Brandon Leslie.

Anyone know if this Stanford Inv. Meet will be webcast somewhere?

If athletes are lieing about their qualifying marks, why don't the race organizers require proof of these times by making athlete provide a website address that confirms his/her qualifying time. If the time can't be confirmed, the athlete isn't entered (or placed in slowest heat). Some other big meets, even on high school level, do this.

what about Collis Birmingham in the second heat, no way! Didn't he win Mt Sac in 13.21?

Are you insane? I don't know if it's possible to find better weather for distance running than Stanford at night. If there are better conditions, it sure isn't in NYC.

Check your facts next time genius.

Moen has run 13:53 for 5k and 28:40 for 10k...doubtful he lied. He is more than deserving to be in the second heat.
