Yeah, I commented earlier that the stride length and mechanics were not the same as 60 second quarter runners - I figured they were running 4:30-4:40 pace but now I see I was generous with my estimate.
Perhaps if it wasn't cinder the first runner could have dipped under 4:40.

Nobody that is not a known comodity at some level in the track world, just up and breaks 4 minutes....but, I did run a 1:44 800m by myself onetime, timing myself on the local track.

Hah! I just saw this, that track is only a couple blocks from my house. No way the track is 400, but at the very least it's a clever trolling attempt, incorporating youtube and all.

I know who both of those kids are. Neither one is capable of a sub 4 (mile).
The question here is not whether its authentic (obviously not) but why they didn't take the minimal extra effort to make a decent hoax.
Film it completely (outside the track), have everyone jumping for joy at the end and speed up the film a little to correspond to proper sub 4 form and you would have a real fun debate.

but then the audio wouldn't sync up. and if you sped the audio up as well, then you would have higher-pitched sounds, etc., to give it away. and if you left out the audio it would be suspicious.
Oh, and here (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1509480) is a link to the route mapped earlier, but I used "Complete There and Back Route" twice so it's four laps now (doubled it twice).
This measurement gives it at about 4:40. Whoever said that, you are a scholar!

Google maps is reaaallyy accurate. Whether the distance is right on or a little short, I think it is hilarious. You guys all sit here on your computers critiquing and not doing anything. At least I can laugh and admire the creativity. "oh, I've run 4:15 and that's not even close". I am glad I have everyone else's opinion; now you get to hear mine: NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU THINK! You are correct. The leg cadence suggest a time between 4:45 and 5:00 minutes. There are many short tracks around. Franklin HS in Portland, Oregon I think is 5 laps to the mile. The track in Regents Park, London I think is around 375 yards. Nice fantasy but way short of 4 minutes for a mile.
