So sorry to not make myself more clear, and please forgive me for having an idea. My point with the Michigan runner was: why didn't she try to walk as fast as she could? It seems she would have finished sooner than she did trying to "run."

did anyone happen to notice how fast the times were this year compared to last year. Maybe the ladies gave a 110% effort. Just because some are able to finish stronger than others does not mean the ones falling out are drama queens...maybe it means they ran their butts off.

as to Danielle Tauro it's really sad what is happening to her. I have been a nurse for a number of years and have seen this condition only twice. It's really hard on the body when it happens and most people don't realize there is no cure for it. Medically they will treat Tauro's symptoms but once it happens it's hard for the body to correct this condition but not impossible.

I have followed Tauro's racing during high school years and nothing about this young lady says, quit! I can't even imagine how frustrating it would be for Tauro knowing how much talent is in her body to perform and her body not responding to the demand. Once everything is worked out for her she will be running like the wind once again.

It look to me as is if she was still trying to run even though her body was breaking down...at least she didn't quit!!! The other ladies have no reported medical condition and they fell out so why not give Tauro a break.

Merciless souls on these boards there are.

All the chute workers were wearing windbreakers or long sleeve shirts,so I don't think it was hot.

Seeing these finishes make me laugh when someone has the gall to say that if men were responisble for childbirth, there would be no more births, due to the pain men would would have to endur.

Just a bunch of girls, period.

And for Tauro, who should be held accountable for letting her run with such a conditions? Does this happen in practice? I had a girl that was 100% in practice and then come race day would have similar "issues", but this was an "asthma attack" that was brought on by stress. Needless to say, I kept her on scholarship, but she was never a contributor to my team.

Tell your sister I was in that race also and I ran so hard I could hardly see at the end. Maybe if your sister runs fast enough to get with the front pack maybe she will not have to use the monkeys she sees at the zoo as analogies.

Cmon. So magically this year everyone decided to try harder? Those wimps last year - they didn't run hard enough and time their energy consumption perfectly so as to run out of energy precisely at the finish line and flop around. Forget runners, these women should be our next great scientists if they have this ability to predict energy usage.

The fact that 4 course records were set makes me think that conditions were better or the runners were simply better.

I don't think they were staggering around because they gave "110% effort".

im sure that if she could have ran all out that last bit she would have. its not like shes in some covert operation to destroy her teammates. i just really hope she can really get to the bottom of her disease, while staying healthy and safe.

I'm going with the theory that they noticed a few staggering and getting all that attention and the rest got jealous and joined in.

Or they just thought it would be the sisterly thing to suffer together. They might have been worried that the few that were really seriously wiped out might get embarrassed if they were the only ones.

Geez, it looked like a warzone. Those girls are all retarded. You can run so hard that it's hard to stay standing after the race, but it is EXTREMEMELY unlikely every single girl in the race ran that hard. Watch the end of the men's race. How many guys do you see pulling that crap? Like someone said though, when one girl sees other girls falling down and crying etc, they'll do it too.

The spectators are mostly all wearing long pants and jackets or long sleeve shirts. How hot was it?

I'm certainly not saying anything negative about their in-race efforts, only the foolish drama-flopping after the race.
