This is absolutely the mindset acquired from having your head in the sand.
I don't think that it takes a huge amount of effort to conclude that Geb, Tergat, Bek, et al were all using EPO during their record setting days. The rewards are too high to think otherwise. Geb may become President of Ethiopia for christsakes. Tell me those guys, when confronted with a choice, are going to take the high road when there is that much at stake.
All those guys are on equal terms with Lance as it relates to suspicion of doping. Never tested positive (Lagat excluded) but turned in phenomenal human achievements. 26:17 10k???? C'mon. Saying that because they are East African, supremely talented etc., they are above suspicion is ridiculous. Another analogy that comes to mind is Barry Bonds. Already a hall of famer but he needed more. Bek needed to be better than Geb and so on and so on.
Now do I believe that they are using now? I doubt it; they're not running as fast as they did during their doping years.
Do I think that Lance doped after '99? Probably not; but I do believe that he doped.
Do all of you really believe the current T&F records from the 90's were any different than Lance's achievements?
So in summation, yes I do believe that Geb, Bek, Tergat, et al did use PED's to get their records and I also believe that you'd be crazy not to believe the same.

It was a bittersweet moment for my family when, as a result of chemotheraphy, Uncle Joe became eligible to receive erythropoietin himself. To see the circle turn like that - from an inchoate need to the germ of an idea, from testing and refinement through clinical trials, from scientist and doctor to patient - it's astonishing.
That's the thing about gifts freely given; one never knows what will come of giving the gift. Epo was a gift that my uncle gave to his patients and the world. The fact that some people have used the gift for evil doesn't change the fact that it was created for good.
Joseph Eschbach was a rare and wonderous man and I will miss him.
Ok, at least you came right out and said it. I disagree, but I am not actually debating that point at the moment.
I was just challenging the brojo's to make their feelings clear on the subject like you did. But I guess it easier for the brojos to say 'nearly all of the top runners are on EPO' but then to go on using the performances of Geb, Bekele, Tergat, etc to promote their site, and praising these very same top guys.
Aren't Webb and Teg getting near the best of the world? I guess they must be doped too, correct ?
