Dulong graduated HS three years prior to Pre....more a contemporary of Ryun than Pre and not nearly as good as either.

Nobody has mentioned Frank Wykoff... won the Olympic Trials in the 100 in 1928, went on to run on 2 more Olympic Teams.

I would have to agree that Ryun is the best but I am suprised nobody has mentioned Michael Granville who ran 1:46 in the 800 (and 1:49 as a frosh).

Gerry Lindgren impressed me the most when I was in high school and he was in high school and he beat the Russians. It was like boy hero saves the world.
