and here's a list of the top ten liberal arts colleges in the u.s. - as almost all d3 schools fit into this category - according to u.s. news and world report in 2007. overlap between the two sets of lists seems to be a good indicator as to which schools are strong in middle distances and academically. there are only two schools that overlap - pomona and haverford. leer is the only one on the list for pomona, and it's worth noting that his time bumped another haverford guy off the 1500 list - they used to have five of the top ten times.
