wow to be honest i totally agree, he sounds like an idiot in that interview. there is one point where he laughs and sticks his tongue out of the side of his mouth and just looks like a fool. he really did sounds like a football or basketball player at some points in his interview. he's a fast fast kid, and unbelievable, but man, i couldn't stand listening to him talk.
Hey now, looks like some straglers escaped the sheep dog. You guys were supposed to head over here for a hug and what not.
If you were a CEO from a major sports apparel company and saw this video, would you want to sponsor Rupp? Would you have many better options to consider?
Like who? F***in' Webb? McDougal? Are those guys F***in' masters of charisma or something? Give me a break man.
The most articulate runner is Fam, its too bad he had to pull out, he wouldve given Rupp a run for it.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda...why did he drop out anyway?
he sounds fine. he's young and possibly slightly nervous.
you guys are jealous idiots.
the boys got some street to him to talk like that. good for him. might have a good career.
you are all retarded. Galen doesn't talk hood, he sounded fine. He's not from the hood, and you don't need to be to be a champ. This is all stupid. You are all stupid. Galen is fast and you are all slow.
Go run and try to get better. I hate all of you.
hey i notice some chico guy in the back round walking back and forth during the interview...that was funny
You're right... I already decided he doesn't talk like he's from "da hood" ... he talks more like he has a mental handicap. Shoulder shrugs... talking out of the side of his mouth... sticking out his tongue... moving his head around a lot... it all adds up.
There's not doubt about it. Rupp was dissapointing to hear talk.
He sounded smooth...like

I've never seen someone talk like this who does't play basketball or football, race aside.
Then again, listing to Ryan Hall talk was annoying also.
Are these guys trying to create 'interesting' identies for themselves by talkin like a baller (Rupp) or surger (Hall)?
Will Rupp talk like this in 10-20 years? Did he talk like this 5 years ago? Anybody have interviews from highschool to see if this is how he talked?
Yeah, Hall talks like a real 'surger'.
Meant to say surfer
Well, he may talk funny, but he's got a great perspective and clearly knows what he's doing with himself. I gotta give him credit for that.

not one part of him sounds Bostonian. at all.
Ohh yes he does, maybe you're from Boston and don't recognize a faint accent, but there is some past dialect in there.
As to the other douche comments people are making about shoulder shrugs and facial gestures, you guys need to check yourselves into a psychiatric ward ASAP. There is nothing but a smudge of 20 year old giddiness. So he's bright eyed and bushy tailed, too bad you are not.
Two things set Rupp apart from the rest of us.
1)He just tore apart a national class field, with some top international talent in it.
2)He can say with confidence (not disrespect) that he wasn't thinking about those guys, and his training is probably as good if not better than them.
This happy-go-lucky kid is your mo-fudgin daddy. So if all you have is your alleged perfect speech (off camera) then you really don't have anything to criticize.
fam wasn't really planning on running the 10k until pretty late as far as i know. he probably figured he was fit enough for a solid time, and when the pace seemed like it wasn't gonna work for him, he stepped off. i don't know what kind of training he was doing before the 10k last year with webb and ritz, but i bet with some solid 10k training, after his early season 13:11, he could run a monstrous 10k.
The first thing I noticed was his speech and facial movements/ expressions, but, c'mon...the kid just got done running a balls-to-the-wall 10k. I'm sure he was a LITTLE tired, maybe a few ENDORPHINS flowing. And if he does sound a little "street" ,well, he is 20. I remember giving reporters a few "awesomes", and "excellents" in the 80's. You don't have to respect his speech ,and you don't even have to respect the time the kid just ran, but unless you have the talent and the balls to race him competitively, it will serve you well to remember that he DOESN'T GIVE A F*&K!

Is that a seroius question? Um lets see..pretty much every thug in the NBA h as a sponsor from a major sports apparel company...wow the amount idioticy is great in this post.
He actually sounds like a latino gangster when he talks and he moves his head and lips and laughs like Nelly the rapper or a basketball player.
Point is: it seems phony. as posted before, will be talk like this 10 years from now? Seems more like a phase, a sign of immaturity.
As to him being tired after race causing his speech problem, Rupp talks the same way when he rested in another Flocasts video.
