I really think it depends on two things. (1) If you have enough energy return in your spike plate, it will store energy for you to use the last two laps, and you should be in good shape, (2) In gym class, you will always be able to run faster than in a race where they document your time. So I would wait until your next gym class, and make sure you wear spikes with energy return. Good luck.

If it weren't for that lame website this cat has, I would say that "the 4:30 miler" is the most clever persona ever hatched by Kevin Beck.
Even with the website I think this might be a hoax by Kevin or somebody else. But then I see "physiology extrordinare" and I just know NOBODY is clever enough to invent that stuff. only know-it-all HS'ers and college pukes can come up with that. the problem is they are serious when they write it.

Dude, every time you run slow (which is every time) you make an excuse. If only they posted your gym results. Then we'd know how fast you really are. Maybe you should actually run hard in a race(that is if you're already not) so we can see if you live up to your name.
Anohter thing. If all those other kids had to run 3 heats of the mile and/or 2 heats of the 3200, how come they still pwn3d you?
One of my favorite strategies at a dual/tri meet is to coast for the first 3 laps then blast the last lap. Basically 3k pace for 3 laps, then see if you can break 60...
