Another guy that comes to mind is Tyrone Wheatley. He ran the 110H at Michigan. I saw him run at Penn Relays one year and I think he won his heat. I remember not believing how a guy that big could be so agile. He took up the whole lane width-wise yet toasted everyone. It looked freakish.

Thanks a lot guys, there's great amount here to work with. I'm definitely going to be playing towards these football players.

I had one guy last year who was a running back that came out for track for the first time (in his senior year) who won 5 medals at states. I can't imagine how much talent is hiding just in those 11 starters alone.

I would estimate that your estimate is still too low. If you can make it in pro sports, you're an incredible HS athlete (yes, even the QB's and punters). DL and OL guys probably threw shot or discus, at least in HS. My HS had the guy who was the 100, 200, and LJ state champ, All-State Football, All-District Basketball (too short), All-State Baseball, statewide newspaper HS Athlete of the Year ... He made it to the AAA level in baseball, but no higher. I can't image how good one would have to be if this guy couldn't make it.

Jeff Stover....played defensive end for the 49'ers and ran hurdles and threw discus at Corning High School in the late 1970's. I think he lives in Chico now...
