Sam Adams Winter Lager

went bike riding the other week with an old high school friend. we had one sam adams winter brew before we left and put two in his bag for the ride. we stopped at a bench put on the trail along the hill that looks over the river and city, as the sun was setting. no we are not gay but it was pretty damn relaxing catching up on old times, not hearing our women bitch at us and it was one of the best tasting beers i think i've ever had. its funny how times change and the reason for drinking changes, 10 years ago we would have had 6 more and done something dumb after but one was fine and the 15 minutes of peace from our daily lives was more than satisfying.

Pussies drink lagers, especially macrobrews like sam adams. Lamestream poser. Try drinking a real beer that isn't manufactured by an oppressive corporation, say, like pabst blue ribbon. I drink that shit all day on my fixed gear bike, and you should too.

Are fleet foxes hipster? Still haven't met anyone that can give me a defintion of the word. A crush likes 4chan and has dark hair so is apparently hipster says another. Not sure what music she likes. I like me some FF and BoH, what can I say, not a big indie guy, but live near seattle and pick some stuff up; they're catchy, soothing--who doesn't like mykonos? Can't stand modest mouse. Jagged, whiny, depressing. What are we talking about again?

They are definitely hipster, but they are fantastic. Not all that is hipster is awful.

BoH is less hipster though... Just saw them a few months ago and I bet the crowd was more fratty than hipster. Might have been b/c it was in Charleston, but whatever. I saw them in DC in 2006 and the crowd has hipster, so they probably went the route of MMJ.

FF is supposed to release another album in 2011. I hope it is good. I think the singer is kind of a douche despite his talent.

um... they don't. Odd that this thread was resurrected for another reason than Sam Adams' replacement of the cranberry lambic with the delicious and exquisite Chocolate Bock. And that is what happened. The bock is a great addition to the winter mixed pack. Good to have on hand too since it's popular with the ladies.

As for the Winter Lager, sure, it's a good session beer on a windy cold night. I've been in more of a Fezziwig mood lately though. Prost!

Many Christmas beers or winter beers actually improve with a bit of aging, Ive found this for sam adams, Sierra nevada celebration ale, and anchor steam christmas ale. Put a case by and try one every few weeks.

I would agree with the GLBC Christmas Ale as a favorite during the holiday/winter season.

I actually was lucky enough to get two cases for Christmas and had some of the last pints out of the kegs at the brewery last week.

lambic pentameter is pretty good. Flows nice and smooth if that makes sense.
