Some punk downvoted a factual statement on a World Record.🙄

Youth Single-Age Records: Track organizations that track specific single-year records (like "13-year-old world bests") require official verification from the athlete's National Governing Body (such as ⁠USA Track & Field in the U.S.). To ratify a national or world-level age record, USATF requires an immediate doping control test. [1, 2]

The "No Test, No Record" Reality: If a 13-year-old breaks a record at a local, un-vetted youth meet where anti-doping officials are not present, the record-breaking performance will usually be denied official ratification unless the parents or event organizers immediately coordinate an emergency test with an agency like the ⁠U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) within 24 hours. But it is not an official World Record, unless it gets ratified, per standard procedures (regardless of athlete age).

If that's why they downvoted you and had a brain, they would have explained their reason for the downvote.

Angelina Alder is terrifying.

The irony here is that the OP’s post, could be interpreted as taking a swipe at the Brooks meet for not having the fastest high school girls in it. So when I pointed out that nonetheless, the fastest middle school girl was here (regardless of what happened at HOKA FOM, then maybe the OP got burned and lashed out with a downvote. I was peeved about the downvote, so I called her a ‘punk’, which I probably should not have done.

So then I had a question (I didn’t know) whether age group records for youths need to be ratified, including “t•sting”. I thought I would share the answer here, since someone else was probably curious, as well, but that post got removed.

Yeah, we'll see how the ups vs downs stack up over time. Usually when there are double digit ups and only 1 down (or maybe 2), the downvoter is just trolling or they'd provide a good reason for downvoting, which is practically never the case. But personal vendetta is also a reason you'll get downvoted. I'm sure I've got a hater or two on here that I may have offended on here at one time, who will downvote me whenever they see I posted something. No biggie.

One of the reasons for my ramble was admittance of getting triggered by the upvote/downvote, and lashing back in response. I now see the error, hopefully will learn, and do better going forward.🙏

2 of the top 3 milers were in fact at Brooks PR, but Combe and Sheppard elected to run the 800 instead of the mile. The only top miler who skipped Brooks PR is Ellery Lincoln who is getting ready for Nike and U20.

I may not have been the OP, but I may have been the person to point that the Hoka Meet had the fastest high school girls. I did not down cote anyone’s post. As a general rule I don’t down vote. If I don’t agree I usually just keep scrolling. I did agree with your point that this meet did in fact draw top younger talent. Freshmen, middle school races were great. The high school races were also really good. I enjoyed the whole meet, and did not down vote any comment.

I was thinking how ridiculous Cooper Lukenhouse would have been at this meet. As a junior. Not even sort of close. He really is a special talent.

No, there is no ratification for age group records. All of the 12 year old, 13 year old, etc. records are unofficial.

If it's a U20 record then it needs to be ratified. (Sydney McLaughlin broke a U20 record but it wasn't ratified because she wasn't drug tested.)

The whole Alder family has believed for the past 2 or 3 years that Angie will be the best Alder by a lot. I agree. Angie is on a completely different level.
