So...back to the 1500. I wasn't able to watch the replay ESPN showed during the baseball game. Does anyone who saw the race have anything to say about it? I mean, the top 3 seperated by less than a second? This must have been an amazing finish!
Also, I'm suprised that no one is talking about Manzano's run. After all, the guy is still in college (albeit as an older-than average-sophomore). What's the story? Was Lagat in control of this race, or did Gabe and Manzano really push this to the wire?
They were all three pushing it to the wire with Lagat lane 1 by one half stride lead, followed by Gabe by one half, followed by Manzano by one half stride. Yes, it was quite amazing. No one let up through the wire. I will say, Gabe is built like a quarter miler. He took off his shirt during warm downs. I have not seen such muscle definition on a distance guy - not an ounce of body fat on that boy. He really needed that race. I know lots of people say this and that about his flakiness, but he really is a nice guy. He just needs to keep focused on the running. It looks like he is doing that now.
He is really ripped. I noticed that during his race. I also noticed Gabe's mom about a bleacher down from me and noticed that she had twice the hair on her leg than that of the average American male. Gross...
Thats really interesting. When Gabe was at his best he was ripped. Over the next two years he lost a lot of muscle tone and got really thin. He also started sucking at running.
I guess he is working out again.
