If Quincy Wilson cleaned up his form, his stride might look like Birnbaum's.
Never happen. I dont think he will listen or compromise his style. He'll go pro after one season and never develop far enough to contend. Finalist maybe, but not a real contender. He's not fast enough yet. Im talking 100/200 speed. He should have gone to Watts. Maybe he will but the $$$$/false hype has its grip on him.
Are we taking about the Cole Hocker who's 1500 PR is 4 whole seconds faster?
The same Cole Hocker who also ran 3:31 at age 20?
Too many fast guys now. Couldn’t beat Strand and Koech. Now there is a new man in Simeon. Hocker is likely to not even make the team anymore for Worlds. He has gone 3rd and 5th and he doesn’t have the fitness gap when he has to make the pace.
I somewhat agree. However, I think his fitness for rounds will be there in the next couple years. He's going to be .Oregon like Nguse. Will have to rely on a fast pace final and be in shape for rounds. Not a sit and kicker like Hocker.
Wow. Perfect conditions for a 1500 - 70 degrees, slight north wind that can sometimes swirl counterclockwise in Hayward and "almost" give a tail wind the entire way around the track. Regardless what a time, especially the last lap.
OK Ackley boy. Next you’ll tell us he has the perfect build to run the 1500m.
Ok it's a very good time but remember a 19 year old Australian ran 3:29 and a 17 year old Kiwi ran 3:47 for the mile. So lets just leave it at that.
Posts like this are bad. So we shouldn’t be celebrating a collegiate record and an amazing performance just because a few younger, generational talents have run faster?
There was something nostalgic and beautiful about what Birnbaum just did! 'Prefontaine-esque". An awesome Fit Oregon Bro taking charge with Gravitas & Panache and running his race in a studly manner, crushing the competition fairly and squarely, all the while setting the NCAA Record in the process and catapulting himself onto the world stage. Well done!!!

He must have watched Without Limits the night before.
