seems all runners benefited by around 3minutes from there usual level today. also, with it being wind-assisted the whole way and a downhill course you would not get the same fatigue in the later stages. a historic race but completely unrelatable to any other race where you face proper conditions.
its a shame England only has 1 decent marathon. the likes of Holland, Germany, Spain etc have multiple decent high profile race on fast courses with huge multi-national fields, but we are stuck with Brighton and Manchester. Poor atmosphere on the course (Manchester is completely dead for most of the route), no TV coverage, laughable prize money and mediocre fields.
