Why hasn't he done the one thing that would immediately put all of this to bed? If someone is innocent, they move heaven and Earth to clear their name. They don't hire a family law attorney and then refuse to engage at all.

They liked D3 better. Personal choice and I've known of athletes who got academic aid that basically amounted to a full ride.

But your first point is correct — D1 ain’t for everyone. The patron saint of D3, Andrew Rock, grew up in a town of like 500 people in rural Wisconsin. Lax was a much better fit for him than Madison.
There are almost 6000 colleges in the US. Northeastern is better than 5900 of them. So yes, acceptance rate is one of the main factors used to rank quality of schools. Test scores matter. GPA matters. Starting salary matters.

OK, well, while you're arguing about pedantics regarding college admission as a red herring, in the past 24 hours we've learned that:
Rowan lied to their own athletes, saying that they're testing Seth and they haven't.
Rowan never reached out to ISU, at any time.
Rowan is, at the absolute best, incompetent at responding to their legal obligations regarding information requests. At worst, they are intentionally hiding things and attempting to cover things up.
As is so often the case with these things, it is going to get worse before it gets better. Eventually, and most likely soon, Rowan's back is going to break and they're going to start blaming Seth. And that's when it gets ugly for him, and hilarious for everyone else.
I haven't argued anything. I have merely stated facts. The thread is about an elite D3 runner. Quality of D3 schools is loosely relevant. Arguing about a different runner is not and there are other threads that exist where you can discuss it.

What I can talk about first hand is how many of the other SUNY coaches are talking about this. Geneseo has a decades-long track record of doing underhanded recruiting crap. When certain coaches tried to directly ask geneseo coaches about their practices, without reporting them or making a formal complaint, geneseo ended up making formal complaints against them. When formal complaints were lodged nothing ever came of them even though this is been well documented and well attested. Given geneseos track record, something's up here.
