I've been around a long time and I think Myers is THE guy to get there. Super super experienced coach, seems to have it all. Has transferred from teen phenom to serious senior, I'm watching with great interest!
We need to see Myers, Ruthe and Lutkenhaus line up together in a 1500.
In a year or two, this would be a very exciting race (maybe 2-3 years for Coop). If they do it this spring/summer, Myers will mop the floor with them. The young guys are generational talents for their age, but neither one is soloing a 3:30 any time soon.
I’ve been sleeping a bit on Mister Myers thinking that his peers (Laros, Reynold) had way better wheels and would embarrass him in championships. Inserting foot in mouth this year
Well that has continued to be true. Myers didn't go well in Tokyo, and was absent from World Indoors to run a time trial in Melbourne. Great run no question, but he really needs to get more experience in hard championship races.

Yep, Like one poster said earlier Coop is not in their league at 1500 (he’s still very low mileage). Right now they’d run away from Coop in a 1500 just as Coop would run away from them easily at 800. Not a match-up yet (if ever) at 1500.
He was out and about winning the New Zealand Secondary Schools triathlon champs.
Due to the poor weather the NZ Schools Triathlon of 750m Swim / 20km Bike/ 5km Run was changed to an Aquathon of 750m Swim and 3.75Km Run. Sam was out of the water less than a minute behind the leaders, then ran them down to win easily. Sam is reported to have been disappointed that the bike leg was cancelled as he has during the last few weeks been competing in local road cycling events and making the podium in the top open age 'A Grade'. He is a very competent swimmer, cyclist, and triathlete.

Great info. I wish I’d have had half his talent. 😂

Smart move in IMHO, who really gives a shıt about indoor champs. He has been training well at home, i.e. no travel, crook food, etc involved, tested out his fitness in what was pretty much a time trial with a 3:30 and, as stated by him, later heads off to Europe and the US. The important championships will come later.
Pencilled races:
Stockholm Diamond League (Bauhaus-Galan), Sweden: June 7, 2026.
Oslo Diamond League (Bislett Games), Norway: June 10, 2026.
Myers had medical issues before Tokyo. Remember he had to get permission from his Cardiologist and Neurologist before he went to the USA a few months back.

That's nice, I guess no medals for Cam Myers then, let alone gold ones.

That was after Tokyo back in Australia in early season training.
Weird saying nobody gives a sh*t about indoor champs when the three medalists from Paris ran the 3km and the reigning world champ ran the 1500m. And you can be sure Jakob would have ran if he wasn't injured. Sounds like a lot of people give a sh*t.
