Wiley has a tough semi. Three of out six heat winners, the fastest runner of the day (Coiro), and, of course, the world record holder. Wiley has beaten Coiro both times they have raced and beat Wielgosz by 3 seconds in their only race. I think Coiro and Wielgosz went to the well in their heat, so who knows what they have left for tomorrow.
Still, with Keely in the heat, it is basically five runners fighting for only one spot in the final.
Yes I think the positive is Wiley is more aggressive and bold than the two. They leave it late so if Wiley can get the coveted spot on Keely it could be fast enough that she has a nice gap to work with. The other two might run extra distance and fight amongst themselves. It’s hard being 5 for 1 but I can see a world where Wiley gets a better ride and capitalizes on the others’ tactics. The flip side is if she does too much work to get a good spot and one of the two runs patiently and passes by late.
