It took us 20 years, trillions of dollars, thousands of lives, NATO invoking Article 5 and assisting us, and 4 presidents to convert Afghanistan from a Taliban-run failed state into a Taliban-run failed state.
But sure… this will be quick. I’m sure the problem in Afghanistan was the 7 trans soldiers in the US military.

They do not want to see US casualties pile up again over another war on the other side of the globe.
And if the economy tanks as a result of this, Trump could even see a loss of control of congress and his war defunded if this is still going on in November.
Iran has few friends in the region anymore. They’ve been destabilizing the region for generations through proxies and most of their own people hate the government. There are a lot of people from Iran in Southern California that vehemently hate the Iranian government. Most prefer to be called Persians. Hope for the best.

Did you know that in 2025, Pakistan deported over 1 million Afghans? Stable countries that reasonably have their sh!t together don’t want a ton of poor migrants from other countries coming, turning it into a new version of the poor country. Pakistan has its sh!t together. Afghanistan certainly does not.
