If she had a chance to win skiing on one leg at age 41 it says alot more about lack of depth in the field than her remaining ability. Not unlike our too old politicians who stay around way too long because they can. This was not a great Olympic moment or athletic achievement. It was the worst that can happen when an athlete don't know when to leave the arena, and there is money to be made on that lack of judgment.
vonn was literally 1st in the women's downhill standings for the circuit this season. i do think it's fair to question if this was one season too many, whether she did too many training runs this week, whether she did too many races this season, given her age and health.
