At what time in global history have people NOT been horrible to each other? The history books are filled with tales of war, greed, corruption, betrayal, conquest, slavery, plundering and pillaging. Only thing different now is how many people can broadcast their horrible thoughts all over the internet for others to see.
This is the most accurate response so far.
Also, to anyone whose answer included assigning blame to Donald Trump, you are part of the problem.
We’re not even finished with the first month of 2026, and things are different now already
Toxoplasmosis. Aeroplanes allowed cats to fly in the cabin with humans, and everyone onboard inhaled their aerosolised droppings. Anger is a symptom.

We were once a high trust society and imported millions of people from low trust societies in the past 20 years. India, Pakistan, Mexico, central America, Middle East....all low trust societies.
We used to have as a country a dominant shared background, country of origin (Anglo saxon europe), religion, and with that shared principles and ideals.
Now we are so diverse there is very little connectivity in communities or people have moved to their own ethnic or family enclaves and don't interact outside that bubble. That's how Brazil or India operates and people there are generally awful to each other with no civic sense.
Yes. Those third world countries all have corrupt government. So the citizens become corrupt because they feel they have no choice, or else they'll suffer and starve by being honest. Why would we expect citizens from these countries to be different? Sure, some can change with the new opportunity. But most carry the learned baggage with them upon arrival. Now, the US is becoming more like these countries and their citizens are gathering unrest and following suit, unfortunately.
I'm angry because I can't get a job, even a minimum wage retail or admin job, despite having a degree and a masters degree. I can't afford a house, a wife, children. I am seriously looking into Thailand, Vietnam, hell... volunteering on a farm in some foreign country just to get out of here. I'm in my late 30s and time is running out to carve a normal life.

It is 100% social media. It isn't one side, or the other side. It is everyone.
It used to be bearable b/c people were generally pretty nice to each other, but then realized they could take their frustrations out on other people anonymously. That proliferated and remained bearable because it was "just online." Well, now we have a generation of people who think online is real life. And, well in a way they are correct.
Social media will convince you to hate the people you love. Everyone is a Marxist or a fascist. But we know that is not true. Just try to get offline as much as possible and be kind to people. Ignore the noise and hate. Tune it out. Be the change. It will work.
It just is much more one side. It just is historically. Limbaugh and then his offspring invented the concept of the other side being your sworn enemy instead of just disagreeing with you. You can draw a straight line back to that. Its spawns things like trying overthrow the country. Social media just amped it up 10000%
I'm 40 and really miss how things were in the late 90s and early 2000s. People were so different. Life was so different.
Wages have been stagnant while the cost of living has nearly doubled in the last 25 years. Nobody will be happy working twice as hard to afford the same life they had years ago.

No use staying in a miserable situation, but your listed credentials indicate potential for turnaround. Phillipines also a good option with those you listed. Keep working hard, making moves and youll find the right scenario that benefits you.
The Covid shots changed people’s personalities, compassion is gone and people turning into synthetic humans.
