Why frame it as "we" being worried? How about is he worried? It's cool to like certain runners but that's an individual thing. For a US-based site, it's not like he's on "our" team.
Yeah, this. He is basically an enemy of the state considering his country is endangering our national security by not giving up Greenland. Not sure why people are cheering for him.
Exactly, his tactics indicated he thought he was fitter than he was (sitting at the back for a last lap surge, which he didn't have). He said in post-race interviews that his fitness situation was "worse than he had thought", which is to say he underestimated where he was in training because he didn't have the usual race stimulus to feed back into his training data and progression.
So back to my point, Jakob has to race sooner or later. Gotta happen if he is fit.
You surely don't think there is any situation where he should be front running that 1500? Please.
Who said anything about front running? There are many ways to run a race and there is a difference between running off at the gun in the pack, and walking off the line to the back, which is what he did in Tokyo. The later works when he is supremely fit. I'm only repeating stuff Jakob has already said in the context of his training method.
Racing is very important for Jakob, unless he has totally changed his approach in 2026.

wow, you're a Moran. First, Denmark owns Greenland, he's Norwegian --ya know, from Norway . Secondly, if the U.S. invades Greenland, that's an act of war. No normal American thinks we should be taking over any country, except Canada, they're jacking up maple syrup prices (jk)
It really isn't. US had ships at Greenland before any European countries had (hundreds of years ago). Jake being from Norway or Denmark doesn't really matter, that's like saying someone isn't from Florida but Ohio.

I love the way Yanks think that because a site is US based that all the commentors should be US.
You ain't who you think you are, mate. Your country is about to see what the world thinks of you. You're all alone, just like you want and you're gonna be in trouble, sir
I don't like how the US administration is behaving either. The world is wise to not trust the US.
That doesn't mean I think Jakob is to be thought of as "we" though. He's as "we" as Kiplimo, who I'm a big fan of.

I think fans of Jakob Ingebrigtsen should be worried. If that describes you, it also describes other people, so “we” is reasonable.

Yeah the Native Americans rowed across the Pacific to get to Greenland duh.

True! Eric the Orange discovered and named Greenland even before the Inuits came - from what is now our 51st state.

OK...you're old enough to know now.
There was this kid I grew up with; he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me, you know. We did our first work together, worked our way out of the street. Things were good, we made the most of it. During Prohibition, we ran molasses into Canada... made a fortune, your father, too. As much as anyone, I loved him and trusted him. Later on he had an idea to build an island paradise as a stopover for over for GI's on their way from Europe across the North Atlantic. That kid's name was Moe Greene, and the city he invented that island. This was a great man, a man of vision and guts. And there isn't even a plaque, or a signpost or a statue of him in that town! Someone put a bullet through his eye. No one knows who gave the order. When I heard it, I wasn't angry; I knew Moe, I knew he was head-strong, talking loud, saying stupid things. So when he turned up dead, I let it go. And I said to myself, this is the business we've chosen; I didn't ask who gave the order, because it had nothing to do with business!
A massive start to the year for BigDog! We don’t like resting on our laurels over here so last week it was off to our adoptive home, Norway, for the first shoot of 2026 🎥 In all the ways Norway is beautiful, from its sweepin...
