Why does flosquirt hide so many of his runs on strava?

Christian allen seems like a pretty versatile runner. 2:09 and a podium for a trail runner is pretty good

Pretty sure he was a 13:35ish/28:30ish guy in college. He also already ran 2:10 at Houston to start the year.
Agreed though, pretty impressive year, 2:10 marathons to bookend lots of good sub ultra results (won the VK at Broken Arrow before getting 4th in the 23k, and then was 4th in the Uphill at Worlds).
Hopefully we can continue putting to rest the “any 2:15 marathoner could crush ultras” dialogue. At this point, especially in the sub-ultra world, minimum 2:15 ability is probably more of a given among podium contenders than the exception.
Heck, Hans Troyer closed the last 26 miles of JFK50 in the 2:27.
What’s cool is that there’s less and less necessity for a guy like Allen to make the inevitable transition to longer races. The exposure and prize money in sub ultra is making it more and more of a viable running career lane.
Exciting time to be a fan of trails.
Huge run from former NAIA runner Chris Maxon.
Why is the race result site so bad? Nothing works
In 2022, 42 men ran an OTQ at CIM (2:18 standard). This year, 52 did (2:16 standard). Will we see more men qualify this cycle despite the faster time, or is this just a front loading of qualifiers who wanted to get it done early in the cycle? I was initially against this change, now I think I fully support it

Seems like more ncaa runners are jumping into the marathon directly after school, (Murphy Smith, Mo Bati) and other talented frequently injured runners who never were healthy enough to get recognized in college are giving the OTQ a shot (Will Norris and Alec Baldwin), who I believe are both from Spirit Lake, Iowa.
