Some might question the merit of this thread. I think it raises the issue that athletes have few options for post-collegiate training so they get drawn to initiatives like this. It highlights that we need more professional groups that are professionally run.
I mean, this thread is way more useful than any of the “I can’t get a woman” or “I love Trump” ones.
Or look at it primarily as a symptom of the low bar of entry and lack of professionalism on the so-called pro level of the sport. Especially in the notable meccas. This “group” is absolutely a joke – and that was apparent from day one – yet it can exist precisely because in distance running anyone with some free gear and a discount code for the thefeed.me can claim to be a pro. That’s the reality mirrored in this situation, if you see the forest for the trees. And the person who was sent this email showed up with a hand out to CQ but when they didn’t magically turn into a USA champ by dint of association they chose to quit and wanted a scorched earth path out. In other words, this former Meridia member felt entitled to the perks without paying the dues. There is no such thing as a free lunch and there is a strong chance that CQ and her little circus of desperation were a soft landing as this unnamed individual bounces swiftly away from relevance in the sport. This is really a case of “they deserved each other.” CQ met epitome Boulder elite and it was beautiful.
I didn’t even read any of what this is about but I side with Quigley
I did read it and I side with CQ (which surprised me, as I don't like her and thought this whole 'team' was a joke).
But her 'threats' and asking for the stuff back or monetary equivalent is only if the athlete in question wants all their historic connections with the team deleted. Which CQ rightly points out is a very unusual and non standard request.
You don't delete your involvement with a sports team after you leave them. It's a matter of historical record.
Her email reads to me like it isn't even intended to be taken seriously. It's saying 'no, Im not going to delete the old posts, but if you really want me to then you have to give me all the money and the free stuff back' knowing full well that her request is as unreasonable as the athletes.

Right, essentially it was CQ calling a bluff.
I guess. It’s a very long winded email with a lot of detail to just be a bluff. *shrug*

The bigger question is what kind of “professional” athletes is she recruiting, and how is she treating them, to create a situation where someone wants NOTHING to do with her or her club including historical references. That’s pretty darned unusual and hints at some strange dynamics happening in that club.

Well we know Katie Camerena burned out of one distance group already, and while not as hot as Colleen, still pretty fire in the looks department. Is she still with Meridia?
