I don’t know where YOU live but I’m in Fayetteville. In a development with SU professors and MDs from Crouse, Upstate and St Joe’s. And you are wrong. Most of my development is here for FM. For the education. And as soon as the kids graduate they’re out! Because the property taxes are outrageous. And yes Bill Aris grew the teams to success. But don’t you dare disparage their success or deny that families move to the area because of the education. You’re obviously clueless
Where do you think more families move for jobs...Wash DC, NYC, LA, Seattle, San Fran, or Fayetteville-Manlius, NY?
Which of the F-M girls moved into and out of the district for XC?
I wasn't disparaging Aris, it's amazing what his 'Stotan' training philosophy was able to produce from a relatively small group of homegrown kids.
Having to coach at a true public high school with no school choice and working almost exclusively with local talent makes it very challenging to build a national contender.
Generally private schools, states with school choice, and schools with high profile transfers recruit best runners to compete at nxn.
FM, Toga and Bethlehem all from NY are most competitive teams from traditional public high schools with kids who grew up there.
So congrats to FM and Coach Aris!
