Partisanship. If she were to test positive, everyone would quickly jump ship to save face and preserve those remaining. Cake and eat it, essentially.

A Uruguayan thlete got a medal in the marathon, not a GB athlete. Don't try to steal medals from other teams.

Absolutely did not see that one coming. Which makes sense considering how old she is and that she hasn’t been able to run anywhere close to this for years, including weeks before worlds.

We all know they’re sus. But certain coaches and athletes in track are protected. You will never hear them getting publicly busted. There will be a silent ban and they’ll claim injury will claim “injury” as the excuse. Ritz and his club are among them

When you mentioned Hull I burst out laughing. I know you weren't being facetious.

It’s pretty obvious that if parents have a job in Syracuse they have to live in the commutable area and that includes east, west, north and south of the city. No one is talking about Wash or NYC. The point the poster is making is that there are many many school districts in the drivable area. They chose to move to neighborhoods that are part of the FM district. They do that BEFORE high school. Not sure what girls you are referring to but they grew up in those neighborhoods for a reason.

I think you guys are missing the point of the original FM post. There has been a lot of criticism of the FM program over the years -- simply search this message board and you will see it. The post about Sage growing up in the shadow of FM was not disparaging the FM girls in any way, but was almost certainly meant as a shot at Aris and the program.

One of the consistent criticisms was that while the FM team dominated the high school national rankings, the running success of the girls after college was pretty limited. The belief by a number of people was that the program pushed the girls way too hard at too young of an age, got everything it could out of them, and then left many of them burnt out by 11th and 12th grade. There is a well-known dark side to getting success out of female high school (and junior high) runners, and there have long been accusations that FM played in that realm.

One can debate if this is true, and as I said there are plenty of pages debating it for those who want to dive in, but the post wasn't about whether girls were moving into the district or not. It's about whether the program cared more about short-term wins or long-term health and development.

I meant to say that the running success of the FM girls after high school was limited, not college. Obviously very few runners no matter how good they are have success after college.

I got Ryan and Sara Hall vibes here. All the talk about Joe but Sage quietly goes along and has the better running career.
