Time for Nadia to change tactics? It's obvious she waited for Chebet to move. Nice try but clearly that did not work. She already has two global silvers so she might as well try something bold and make the first move, even if Chebet looks unbeatable.
I respectfully disagree. No one was going to beat Chebet, fast or slow, lead or follow. She ran 13:58 this year. You're not going to be able to pull away from her with a wind up in the last k. Better to use your kick for second than to run yourself out of the medals.
Well, if Nadia times it with lapping some of the slowfarks still out there that should have been taken off when they fell out of top ten there might be enough mayhem for her to get an extra meter or two.
Seriously - all the field events wittle done to final eight for the last "lap" by sending those behind them home early, but in the 10000 we have to endure already lapped (sometimes twice) runners continue despite getting in the way (and confusing any non-runner kids in front of the broadcast for the first time). It's such a horrible PR move for running - get them out of there when 300 meters behind!
"Two athletes from Trentino tested positive for Nandrolone: middle-distance runner Giuliano Battocletti and sprinter Ilaria Sighele. In this case as well, the athletes had taken a product of American origin, Iron Complex Long Life (a simple iron supplement), and once again the substance that was found was Nandrolone. The issue arises from the fact that in the United States the laws regulating the production of supplements are much less strict than in Italy."
Not like the broads who beat her are clean either.
Seriously the more I see doping accusations threads and posts, the more I'm convinced this is a bad game.
The two big countries that spread this kind of stuffs are GBR and US. And the cause is obvious. They dominated middle distances for decades in the colonization era. Then stating 1975, the rise of African talents cut their old dreams on nightmare.
Great Bretagne Athletics was even humiliated by an East African from Somalia.
And now they are fighting the melt caused by the seek of an old lost glory.
Perhaps she didn't underestimate Tsegay and Ngetich who ran 14:0x. Now she's gonna enter the 5000 fully aware that she has one of the strongest kicks of all time.

Should a French Moroccan really be lecturing others about morals and doping?
The father Giuliano was not a doper : he was cleared after 5 months, because was possible to prove that a legal american supplement he used was polluted (and the Company went with an allegation against unknown person for sabotage).
About Nadia, now are 5 years that is the best in Europe and continue to grow. One of the reasons is that her training is increased as volume with graduality, ad this was possible from 2023 only, when she achieved the degree in environmental engineering. If an athlete like her was American, instead have doubts you could describe her as an example for the next generation.

Hi Renato,
any idea why Nadia always seems to perform so much better at championship races compared to the regular season? This year, just like last year, she looked one or two levels below Chebet, Ngetich, and Tsegay in the Diamond League races, but then suddenly she was the only one who could keep up with Chebet again. I know there’s the whole idea of peaking for the big events, but I don’t know anyone else who shows such a huge difference in performance.

Someone who wants to dope with picogram doses of the worst steroid in existence in terms of effects is at least naive. but wasn't Italy at the forefront of doping? and he makes them dope with half-dollar stuff that doesn't work? The discussion doesn't hold up. Battocletti also has African blood and it is very noormal that he is there with the best.
No kidding. Kara Goucher can't get it out of her head that Gudaf Tsegay is not remotely comparable to Beatrice Chebet in a sprint finish at 5000 or longer.
It was driving me nuts that she was fixated on Tsegay instead of recognizing that Chebet and Battocletti would separate easily.
The only questions were Tsegay or Ngetich for bronze, and whether or not Battocletti would try to get the jump on Chebet by pushing first. IMO, Battocletti made the same mistake as Paris. There was no risk in third or worse. She should have trusted herself on a breakaway sprint over the final 300 to 600.
