A friend of mine wrote a book about Norwegian skiing about 15 years ago. He was 55 years at the time but he was still able to follow the best female runners during their long runs because they ran at such an incredibly slow pace.
I don't know if he is at the stage where he is able to compete for the gold medal. He is a couple of years past his best days in the 1500m now. There is a saying that a man who knows he is going to win has that look in his eyes. Eliud Kipchoge said that about Kamworar in 2009 and true enough Kam went on to be a champion for a couple of years. Jakob used to have that look and you just can't explain it but it's metaphysical look and you knew he was going to win Tokyo. Fast forward 2022 onwards he lost that look it's like he had taken the wrong medicine and its cells just broke down and said alright NO ENOUGH. 2025 today is just an extension of what was broken since 2022.
He is going to the videos now to set himself free, he finds freedom in expressing himself but just know that once a man lose the ability to free himself by breaking WRs and winning gold medals in his pet event he tries to substitute this freedom by freely expressing himself in more youtube videos. If he was going to win in Tokyo this year you wouldn't see him making episode after episode of youtube videos trying to justify his actions. That's a man on a losing path.
Tell that to Laros and teach him so that he may see that this Jakob is a goner spending his time making youtube videos on the excuse of 'connecting' with his fans. Since he can't connect with his legs he had to find something else to connect too lol! Sorry, I was a little rude but it's the cold hard truth.
I understand what you're saying, but I think you're completely wrong. JK is going through what many elite world class athletes go through at some point in their careers. This is especially difficult when you've accomplished what he has and now need to "reset" and accept the fact that you're at ground zero and need to regain what you know is there and works to be the best in the world. It's a daunting task with periods of self doubt and uncertainty. JK is nowhere near the downside of his career, maybe the 1500 times will be more difficult to achieve, but the 5000 and 10,000 are still ripe for improvement.

The above quote is totally off base and makes zero sense, and is nowhere near the "cold hard truth". If fact, you seem bitter about JK and overly critical and clearly not a fan. JK is doing what any smart elite world class runner SHOULD DO when they're experiencing down time. He's is staying connected with his fan base and is sharing a part of himself with them. So instead of criticizing him for being transparent and open, how about just appreciating the fact that he's making these videos because he enjoys it. I know I enjoy watching them, and as a lifelong running fan, I'm always intrigued and interested in learning what goes on in the "day of the life" of one of worlds greatest runners.
