He was working out with Almgren, correct? The guy who just ran 12:44 in Stockholm to win a DL 5K?
No, that is incorrect. I believe he was working out in Chiavenna with the second place finisher (to Nordas) from the recent Norwegian 5k Champs. Young guy with a best of 13:08. Correct me if I've identified the wrong athlete, however.
I'd guess the 2k and 1600 were about 8k-5k pace, 1200-800 at 3k or so, and the 400-200 progressing from mile to 800. Hit a wide range of paces and get accustomed to shifting gears
Lots of love for that post. You all really think he did 5 miles of work at those paces? That would be something close to 4:10 mile pace for the 2K and 1600; 4:00 pace for the 1200, 1000, and 800; and 3:45 and faster for the 600, 400, 200, and 300.
I would have guessed something more like threshold pace for the longer reps down to mile pace for the shorter ones.

Is there a reason why you don't acknowledge his actual PB of 13:06.98?

Yes. -He was working out with Magnus Tuv Myhre, who since the Norwegian champs has bettered his pb to 13.06. (Best race achievement: a silver in Euro xc the winter Jakob was injured. -Myhre has struggled a lot with sickness and injuries, but seems now to be fully back…).

Is that knowledge enough to know he will win the WC 1500m instead of finishing 4th, and again double back to win the 5000m? Does it really mean much of anything at all? Maybe he was pushing too hard to keep up.
I’m going to assume he’ll be at the top of his game at the WC and I hope that turns out to be the case.

You’ve beaten me to the finish line here. Magnus is quite a young Norwegian talent. He was Norwegian national champion of 5k and the country at age 22. He also had a cracker of a race at Bislett in 2023, allowing him to go to Budapest for the World Championships that same year. He’s had some really unlucky injury period after that but is most definitely on the rise. He’s currently under contract with Puma, and recently gave Nordås a scare over 5000m.
Must be off his new cycle. Funny how so many fools think he's clean.
My own logic dictates that it must be true (PEDS). That reasoning being, if something has been contested long enough, in this case running, and it has been rife with dopers from time immemorial, then it must stand to reason that to be at the top, you must be doping.
That is to say, you cannot say every competitor (from East Africa) is doping, but yet J.I is still running faster. And it has not been this way for a year or two, but rather we must expect that East African doping has in fact been going on for decades, along with everyone else. Why would just one place do it?
I don't see how there can be such an outlier that does everything "clean" way faster than everyone not doing it clean. Doping doesn't turn a draft horse into a race horse. It gives the race horse the x% it needs to be faster than the next.

I totally forgot to add that I'm a J.I fan and want him to be clean. I mean, he looks like me, so to speak. Me being a fellow that is 100% Northern European genetically, but has been born and raised in USA.
gonna start reporting these thread clogging posts. let's see what happens. Hopefully they get deleted, along with this post for "low/no information post"
referring to the individual spamming half of this page. put it all in one post, and move on.
Have always wanted to say this but all these RF fraudsters need to be disemboweled thoroughly and sanitised with H peroxide. Not only are they not runners but they have no knowledge about distance and blame it on some crazy idea that govt is attacking elite runners with RF. don't even let them put em in 1 post, they are all the same dude(s). khamis and his copartner(s). check their IP and browser device generation, it's prolly all the same. put their accounts on the blacklist and get the FBI on top of it. Let the FBI give em the real RF treatment menu.
I hope for Jakobs return because racing is way more fun than without.
