Exactly. What are the pay rates for these different positions? I am a member as well and have no interest in volunteering to make pennies as an official when high up executives are making millions.

Less than half of all states don't even throw jav in high school. in other countries they start at 4 years old.
The following states do compete in the javelin on a regular basis, including their state championships. I do not know if they all throw the rubber tipped javelin or not. PA does not require that the Javelin have a rubber tip.
The states that do compete regularly are Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, and Washington. so that is 24 states that are competing the javelin

Less than half of all states don't throw the shot in high school. Less than half of all states don't run the 800m in high school. Not sure what your awkwardly worded point is.
Also some do not compete in the Triple Jump in HS including neighboring states to me Ohio and West Virginia. West Virginia runs the Shuttle Hurdle Relay as a regular event.
The Turbo Jav is used to train beginners included in the Youth and Junior Olympic programs.
The turbo jav is terrible. It isn't used in any other countries. The US needs a gap of girls throwing the 500gm and the boys going to the 700gm for a few years. The countries that are successful in Javelin use this transition and it seems to work well since they seem to always be on top. Outside of Kara Winger when was the last time a male or female made a world/Olympic finals?
