Here's my question. Why don't pro teams issue statements in situations like this? When it came out that Tia Jones ripped chunks of hair out of Xavier Worthy's head, silence from Tonya Buford Bailey. Now that this is all over TMZ, you think Dennis Mitchell is going to say anything? Anything? Not even a quick little "we don't condone that sort of behavior" comment?
If you're wondering why it matters or who cares, anytime somebody assaults somebody in airport but somehow shows right back up at the track on Saturday, decency in society is eroded away just a little bit more, until it reaches a point that it becomes normalized. At some point, some people aren't worth enabling, even if they're fast af.
The NFL and NBA would have suspended someone immediately for that.
Well, Track & Field is not the NFL or NBA or even the WNBA.... They need as many stars as they can put on product at major meets. And I definitely would say that major pro sports don't get discipline correct, at all!
