I'm all for these crappy hipster breweries closing, trying to scam people with $25 4-packs of their overdone IPA and fancy can art design.

EPIC takedown!!!
Like all industries, there are hot runs and cold runs... beer is no different
The reason you see craft breweries shutting down is a result of over saturation of the market. Every dope opened one up thinking it would be fun to brew beer and make them rich. Realizing it was hard work and they are competing with the already established local breweries. Bubble burst and we now have your local favorites doing well.

fixed that for you
I think two things are happening in the craft brewing industry. First, the craft beer thing took off about 25 years ago. Craft breweries set themselves up as family friendly with patios with cornhole, the big connect four and other kid friendly stuff so young couples could still come out with their friends. This was actually a great idea as bars are typically hostile to kids and craft breweries do not need to be open until 2 am, etc. Problem is then that all those kids who grew up going to craft breweries are now old enough to drink. Craft beer is what their parents were into. So, young people are moving away from craft breweries and are more into cocktail bars and bourbon.
The second problem is that craft beers are now available everywhere. Walmart, 7-11, CVS, and most every restaurant and bar will have a half decent selection of craft beers. When the craft beer thing started in my city, there was one craft beer bar in my neighborhood that had Left Hand Milk Stout. They would sell out all the time because all the craft beer fans would flock to this bar to get it. Now, it is in every grocery store. So, the local craft brewery isn't offering anything unique or special anymore.
It's about moderation. I usually split a top quality bottle of whiskey with 3 friends and once it's gone we call it a night. Don't open another bottle.
Can't happen fast enough!!

Also, most of the truly good pioneering craft breweries were purchased by huge corporations. Many of your beloved local and regional craft brands are owned by AnheuserInBev, Grupo Modelo, MolsonCoors, and Fifco.
Does the OP have a hot take on the state of the online porn industry?
Market oversaturation. Natural correction. Nothing to see here.
Maybe the craft beer industry just needs a little tweaking to get back on an upswing. It needs to take their cues from the rest of the economy.
In that regard, I would suggest marketing protein enriched IPAs (heavily marketed and advertised). And maybe the Trump family industry to release a Trump craft beer.
And for the record, I hope neither of these ever happens.
Happy Friday, everyone. Make it a good one!
Alcohol causes Erectile Dysfunction and infertility. Switch to weed which is a known aphrodisiac and can enhance fertility. Just look at how many children long term weed heads like Willie Nelson and Bob Marley have fathered.

I know! I spent THOUSANDS flying across the country to drink beer and the brewmaster wouldn't sign autographs for me and my kids. Sad!
I smoke weed.
