I just got word that Josh Hoey did a workout that was 5x500 in about 75 some other reps then a 600 in 1:13.7 going through in 47. All at the hoey farms meet in PA.
Link to results?
That is, was the 600 a properly timed event from a standing start, or a typical rolling mid-d runner's rolling start hand-timed rep?
It's fine and impressive either way, but more impressive if it was an actual timed event.
Should Rojo ask Josh/Jonah "what would they say to the people who thinks they are on drugs"?
Did they every ask Jess Hull? Did anyone?
Ruth ran 1.5% faster than the world record. If Josh or Jonah runs 1.5% faster than the 800 world record (which would be around to 1:39.4), Rojo would probably ask the question (And everyone else would think the same thing).
Read the title it was a practice he ran at at their invite last night.
5x500 in 1:15
then 600 at 1:13 with his brother pacing. Hard to think a guy who could barely break 49 a few years ago could sustain that pace for another 200m. Wonder what this indicates he could run. I’d imagine that 1:13 equals 1:15 flat to mid thru 600 with a 26.4..

Wonder what the other 800 guys think of this.
Welp according to c-mag the workout was 600 at 1:16 5x500 at threshold then 1x600 in 1:13.

He ran a 1:16 to pace his brother first. I mean he’s run 1:42.0 with a stride hiccup and some surging in the second half already. I never quite know how to judge these practice results, especially for an 800 which is straightforward enough to just run all out from the gun. At USAs I bet he frontruns a 1:41-high.
Hoey runs 3:29 and last year couldn't even beat an AGING Isaiah Harris in an indoor 800. And you still had doofuses who have been following running for years say "perfectly normal haha". These are the same guys who really think Hocker closed a 3:27 Olympic record race in 53 seconds perfectly clean beating a generational talent like Ingrebrigtsen who himself might've been pumped with PED's at a young age. Literally anyone with a brain knew the perfect race for Hocker to win was a slow 3:30-3:33 race but he just somehow ran a 3:27 closing in 53 seconds. They were making prayers on the boards it could be a slow enough race where he could steal a bronze. But yeah this is on the up and up guys I'm crazy.
Hoey going to run 1:39 and his coach will say “yeah, this is just the natural progression after a 1:47 in high school, this should have been obvious to everybody”
