The likelihood of the record being broken isn't very good. It takes more than just the fitness to break a world record: pacing and competition must always be near perfect. So many variables can derail and offset even the fittest miler and prevent and narrowly miss a WR.
I think it wont go down unless Jakob is running. Have to have a rabbit split 245 at 1200 and a rabbitt wont make it past 1000m
Agree. They need pacing to at least 1K so they don’;t have to do the backstretch twice without pacers. If the pacer can last 1100-1200m at mile WR pace, that would be ideal, but anyone capable of that is either in the race, injured or ducking (Kerr)
Any reason why Kerr isn't doing it? Seems like no brainer to do bowerman mile being so close to his home base...

Kerr will be going back to the old habits. He got his game going, and will put in the training block, and race a couple of times, tactically to peak for the champs.
Sorry but impossible. No Jakob no WR. No one can challenge that record without pacing for 1500m. The only person that can break the WR with standard pacing is Jakob no one else has the guts to give it a shot.
I believe Tony Waldorp held the indoor WR for the mile for a time with his 3:55.00 run in 1974. Tied by Bayi in 1975 and not broken for a few years
Bayi for some reason gets credited for an indoor record of 3:54.5 in 1980. Odd because that isn’t true. But ChatGPT spits out mistakes. Coghlan beat Bayi to run 3:52.6 in ‘79. In ‘78 Dick Buerkle defeated Bayi and set the indoor record of 3:54.93.
The world record in the mile run is the fastest time set by a runner in the middle-distance track and field event. World Athletics is the official body which oversees the records. Hicham El Guerrouj is the current men's recor...
I thought Tony Waldrop was the last American to hold the indoor mile WR with his 3:55.0 in 1974 (prior to Nuguse having it for a few days this past indoor season). Seeing my name, this fact resulted in 4 downvotes.
Buerkle did in fact take the WR down to 3:54.93 in 1978. Coghlan then took over setting the next 3 indoor WRs and bringing the record under 3:50.
Like Nuguse isn't even comfortably snug in the 3:43 range proper, he is more like 3:44:00 borderline with his 3:43:96 time ain't it Robert?????? You don't call that a proper 3:43 miler!!!!!! You do call a 3:43:13 a proper 3:43 miler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that would be my first love Hicham El Kingdom Triple Love Guerrouj!!!!!!!!
And not to forget, Nuguse ran that improper 3:43 mile 2 years ago and the space-time trajectory of earth through the universe is so much more different now than back then. The earth has gone through so much wear and aged what with wars and conflicts that never end in the middle east and Europe. All these things bring negative change to human neurophysiology via the laws of physics of quantum entanglement, no doubt, moreover he is also 26 the wrong age these days to be running WRs without illegal enhancements you feelin me?????
And then what about that sluggish loose running technique of his that simply doesn't indicate any WR ran by FAR MORE POTENT AND DISCIPLINED men of antiquity!!!!!!
A lot of things are not looking up for this goose!!!!!

very annoying
Do what huh??????????????? Wake the heck up sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kerr has roasted the competition in his final 2 GST races at his pet distance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With no illegal enhancements to boot and coming back from injury as well!!!!!!!!! Nuguse and Hocker all had perfect winter buildup and was coming off insane winter performances and with such inertial momentum my darling Kerr Josh with half the momentum going in still managed to roast them both on a single home straight twice consecutively, like really folks??????????????????
That shows you how UNTALENTED and INSINCERE those 2 American runners are compared to my boy Kerr Josh!!!!!!
If Kerr had the inertial momentum Nuguse and Hocker had in the winter and the roles reversed, trust me sir, Kerr would be running the 1500m WR in the GST already and still beating both the Americans in the 800m the day before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How do I know???????
Well Kerr in 2024 had the perfect winter running 2mile WR then winning Glasgow world indoors and kicking terrifically AND THEN WON BOWERMAN MILE IN THE SUMMER IN MAY KICKING THE SAME WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PERFECT WINTER KICK AND PERFORMANCE---------->>>>>>PERFECT SUMMER KICK AND PERFORMANCE (ie, conservation of inertial momentum in accordance with the classical laws of physics)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But with Hocker and Nuguse it's like there are open leaks in their buttocks that isn't accounted for, or accounted for using dubious excuses like training focus etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those leaks are certainly gnarly PEDs what else!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah man, this record won't go down on my watch, never ever ever you feelin me!!!!!
It would be disrespectful and rude to my love Hicham El Kingdom Triple Love Guerrouj for this record to be broken by Hocker or Nuguse.
I really don't see anyone in this race dipping sub 3:44. I'd guess 3:45-3:46 for the winner in a similar fashion to last year
Yeah good prediction!!!!!!!!!!! Nuguse is no longer in the same undoped shape he was in at Pre 2023, just ask clean athlete Jakob who has since elapsed an Achilles injury twice!!!!!!! If Nuguse is clean, he has to also elapse some sort degeneration in performance across the 2 year span unless people are suggesting he isn't clean and can manipulate space and time and reverse the aging process of 2 years????????????
Heat doesn't really impact a 1500 in almost any case. as long as the athletes are able to stay in optimal conditions leading up to the race.
but what is the wind going to be?
Suprised so many people are doubtful of the chance at sub 3:44, when we have a guy who has done it, and we also just had 2 guys, who are not part of the big 4, crush a 3:27.
Done it when was that???? 2 years ago and it wasn't even a strong 3:43 more like a weak gooseling 3:44 borderline you feelin me????? Unless you are suggesting that Nuguse has 'magic pill' up his sleeve that is able to wipe out 2 years of aging and oxidative stress?????
I also think the WR can happen because Nuguse has been showing signs that it's in range with his fitness. Not scientific but outdoor times seem to be faster. This could be the moment.
I hope not sir!!!!!!!!! I don't ever want the mile record to be broken by a person whom I'm not sharing an intimate emotional bonding with you feelin me???????
Like I do have one with Kerr Josh, and another one with Hicham El Kingdom, I can feel them vibing but Nuguse I have not had a single moment where it feels effortless in my heart!!!!!!!!
